I have always found the aes sedai warder bond very interesting, but there is an inconsistency that really bothered me. I started a reread of the series at the beginning of 2012, but didn't get very far. When I read AMOL, I had Shadow Rising fresh in my mind. The extreme emotional pain, almost to verge of insanity, that warders and aes sedai experienced when their counterpart died during the last battle did not fit with the experience of Siuan when her warder Alric died in SR. She didn't even feel him die!! And so she is shielded by Elaida and co. and then removed from the Amyrlin seat and stilled. If she had experienced the same kind of loss that the others felt in AMOL, do you think those events would have played out the same way? I don't know. Maybe she would have been in such shock that she wouldn't have been able to defend herself. But I like to think that she would have been on her guard and embraced the source and perhaps Elaida wouldn't have been able to take over. Just a thought!

I'm pretty sure Alric was killed after Siuan was deposed. It's likely that she didn't feel his death because she had already been stilled, or because she was being tortured.
It's also worth nothing that Aes Sedai and Warders react very differently to the bond. When a Warder dies, his Aes Sedai feels an overwhelming sense of loss and intense emotional pain. However, when the Aes Sedai dies, her Warder go mad with rage and grief and ultimately dies while trying to avenge her. There are, of course, exceptions where the Warder survives because he is bonded again. These are very rare cases though.

Siuan also has several times where she breaks down in private when she thinks about the loss. The only exception I can think of to the traditional warder going battle crazy is when Lan has his bond severed, but Moraine had already used the compulsion part of it to foce him to to elsewhere. There are multiple examples of the Warder going battle crazy after the bond snaps. Two warders do it when Elayne is captured by the black sisters and their AS die. Bryne does it when Siuan dies.

Moridin even tried to take advantage of it by killing Alanna. I still have doubts of whether that would have worked as the bond was split 4 ways, and she never could force him to do stuff she should have been able to do.

Siuan was blocked and then stilled before he died so never had a link to the bond, after nynaveve reversed the stilling, alrics death hit her a few mins later and she broke down in front of brin. Elaida and co were probably aware of the bond and ambushed siuan first as she'd be more dangerous if she'd been warned. Siuan was on of the strongest channellers, one of the few Aes sedai i liked, gutted when she died.

Warders surviving, Myrelle had a history of saving severed warders hence morraine passing the bond to her. She'd a pretty interesting way of healing.

Speaking of bonds, egwene seemed to take it pretty well, although gawyn was an idiot so she was probably relieved.
