Jaimes glanced around before he stepped into the inn. His head down and he had a cloak. He checked in and went to a room. Jaimes laid down on his loaned bed and slipped the watch into his pocket and tried to fall asleep.
Stella's engine hummed as Jacqueline pulled into 1560. "Excuse me!" She called up to an open window. "Can you tell me what year it is?" The window was practically the only sign of life in this part of town. Jacqueline had set her time machine to pick a random date and place and needed some kind of hint to where she was.
Jaimes grunted and cursed, he was tired and wanted a bed, but his body said no and pushed him to the window. "It's 1560," He yelled a little and fell down on the bed.
"I would think you would be in a better mood after sleeping than you are in now." Jacqueline replied.
"I'll buy you breakfast to make up for it." She climbed out of her car and put her hands on her hips. "Now stop giving me attitude."
Jacqueline opened the door to the in and walked to the counter. "Two of whatever is the best thing to eat here." She said to the bartender and found a place to sit.
"Jacqueline. Yours?" She asked, slightly amused. She recognized him from her grandmother's journal, he was definitely a time traveler. Unfortunately Jacqueline didn't exactly get the chance to meet the other time traveler in person after inheriting Stella. She only knew about them through what her grandmother wrote.
"So what has you so drowsy this late in the afternoon?" Jacqueline put her elbows on the table and leaned forward. She looked like a curious child, always wanting to know more.
"Well I'm always up for a little rule breaking." Jacqueline grinned. "It makes my day a little less routine."
He smirked. She was interesting. "Time travel," Jaimes whispered so no one else could hear him. "Do you?"
"How else do you get a nice car like mine to the 16th century?" Jacqueline whispered back. She clicked her fingernails on the table and grinned back with a mischievous grin.
Jaimes laughed a little and let his hood down. He jumped over the car door and sat in the passenger seat.
"1830 here we come." Jacqueline pressed some buttons on the radio and put the car into drive. "Buckle up."
"Here we go." Jacqueline put on a pair of sunglasses and stepped on the gas, disappearing into time as it went.
Ryker dragged his tired bare feet against the cold wet ground. He looked up and noticed a sign for a hotel. "I guess I should get some rest," he said to himself. He walked cautiously up to the front door of the hotel. He pressed his fingers against the door, making the door open. It’s been six months since the veil broke and the demons spilled through from the fade. At first it was hard to believe what was happening - all seemed well in the day, but by night people were being snatched up left and right, stolen and killed, tortured and displayed so that by day people would fear these unseen monsters even more so. Those that were lucky enough to survive the attacks were broken and scarred - ruined and scared of everything that moved. The fear those creatures sent through them was enough to turn them into puddles on the ground, fearful of the entire world - especially the darkness.
"The owner went out for a bit, if you want a room you'll have to wait for the old hag to get back." Andy had her boots up on the counter as she leaned back in her chair. Her Ducati was outback, hidden in the pigpen so not to arouse suspicion. People were already freaking out about seeing a strange metal box on wheels here not that long ago, they didn't need to see a motorcycle as well. "Do you need me to get you anything?"
