I just downloaded the book to read. Has anyone read it recently?

I'm currently halfway into it. I love it and have laughed out loud multiple times. Also, am writing a paper on the cult of Isis, which Lucius ends up converting to at the end of the book

Absolutely love that book. I have read it several times over the years and I always find it to be just as good to read each time as the first.

I've been on a Mediterranean world literature surge and have found reference to The Golden Ass in The Decameron, where a wife shoves her lover, then her husband into a barrel. Apparently that story was a popular one.

I'm currently writing a term paper on this book as well and researching the Cult of Isis. Fascinating that this work of fiction is the best source we have on the Egyptian cult.
