I've read the book twice and found myself immersed in the craft of this genius that S. K is.

For Sridharan, yearly visit to his maternal house at Ilanjipoyil is like a passport to freedom and joy.

In my childhood, I've always waited for Onam holidays so that I can stay for few days at my paternal house (which was a village then, but not anymore) where my cousins and children in and around will gather. We children use to have a great time running across paddy fields, mushes and canals.

If I ask - What's the quality of childhood that we are presenting to our children? - maybe, that will be germane to this discussion.

Those of us who have left childhood behind us know that those are the days which, given a chance, we'll trade anything under our possession to get back to.

Rahul, Did you ask ur parents about their child hood...???...they wl tell that very interestingly...from their stories, u wl know, your parents loved their childhood more than anything...every body is having loving memories of their childhood.. they had their best childhood, u had ur best & ur childrens wl have their best....

Another one Muthassi by Cherukad. A forgotten classic in Malayalam. We feel like wish we were born few decades back.
