I'm currently reading Charlaine Harris' Harper Connelly series. They're, um, different, to say the least. I really adore her Sookie Stackhouse books, and that's what made me start to explore her other fiction. These have quite a different tone, I think. The Sookie books are dark, but there's something that's kind of bright about them, too, and they're sometimes amusing. The Harper series is very dark, and quite brooding. The relationship between the central character and her "brother" is a little uncomfortable, too.
I'm enjoying them, and they have great crime/mystery plots, but I can see why they're less popular than some of her other books.
Interesting reading, though :)

I like Agatha Christie's "Tommy and Tuppence" series, William Nicholson "The Wind on Fire", Philip Plan's "His Dark Materials" and the Sally Lockhart ones. Jeeves and Wooster and Blandings are always good (P. G. Wodehouse), the MaddAdam trilogy by Margaret Atwood (but there's only two at the moment). Discworld of course, and I still like Louise Rennison's Georgia Nicolson series :)
I kept trying to find a book mentioned in the lush forum about a forest - so I started reading The Forest of Hands and Teeth series. 2/3 through the second book. Trying to finish the series so that I can be one book off my challenge total

Karen suggested we read a series and it made me realise that threads are all over the place - thanks Karen.
So post away:)
