Al LaGrone (goodreads_alagrone) | 1 comments Hello, I currently reside in Michigan but grew up in Chicago (Southside). My book is a personal narrative about life in the city during the 1960s and 1970s; my being selected as an AFS exchange student to Argentina and subsequent return visits; being a Purdue study abroad student to Spain; and other familial details. The book was self-published a couple of months ago and I'm interested in doing some book readings in Chicago. If anyone can provide information about various venues and how to arrange an event I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Hi Al,

There are a number of independent bookstores that host readings/signings. The Book Cellar in Lincoln Square has a monthly Local Author Night, for example. If you're looking for something on the South Side, you might try contacting 57th Street Books or Powell's Bookstores. Drop an email to the store manager or event coordinator. No guarantees but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Niquenya D. Fulbright (Coach_Niquenya) | 3 comments The Book Cellar is not far from me. I didn't know they hosted a monthly Local Author Night. I am definitely going to check them out. I have a title that was just released and I am hosting my book launch party this month at a coffee shop not too far from the Book Cellar. I will be sure to reach out to them.
