Goodreads All Sorts discussion

I need your help! I read a book about some time ago about the recently dead waking up and going back to their families. Mind you, it wasn't a full-on zombie book, but the ending alluded to it, which I thought was refreshing.

Has anyone read this book and do you remember the title/author?

BTW... there is a group called "What's The Name of That Book???" that specializes in identifying obscure books based on what past readers recollect. I've had them identify books for me from as long ago as things I read in sixth grade (1965) and though I've stumped them a time or two, if you give them the particulars that you recall, more times than not they'll come through.
