I am the author of God's Calling. I saw on a recent review that someone said she felt sorry for me because I was being exploited by a manipulative teen. Granted, I know it seems that way, but I think the main point is that I wasn't helping him out because he deserved it- I was helping him out because I felt like God was calling me to do it. It was more of an act of faith than an act of friendship. In the long run, I feel it will work out.Lynn Cameron

Well stated! The true spirit of giving is to do something of great value for another without the expectations of receiving anything in return.Sometimes the best gifts a person can give are those that are impulsive. I applaud your philanthropy sir!
Thanks Carla. I was not offended at all. Constructive Criticism is how we learn and grow. Since the book was written, Robert and I have had some challenges, but I feel like we are very close. It takes a long time to develop a relationship with someone who has been through as much as he has. He really is compassionate and kind to most people- but he doesn't want to let anyone get close for fear of abandonment. I wish you could meet him- and if only you could see him with his baby- he is a great dad.
I saw another reviewer who thought I was a woman and I understand how that would seem a little awkward in my relationship with a young man. Read more closely though and realize that I was on the path to brotherhood. Also,I don't feel I was trying to recruit people- I could care less if someone is Buddhist,Hindu, Muslim, New Age- etc. Go with what makes you the best person you can be. For me, it is kind of a combination. One God but many parts......
