Hey...I'm Lucy from Howell, NJ. I love horror and vampires, but despise and detest the bastardized version of bedazzled vampires that has come from the Twilight craze! I won't be mean to you if you are a Twilight fan...but I will try to convince you that there are MUCH better vampire stories, novels, etc.. out there!
Welcome, Caterina. Glad to have you in our group. I like to think of this not as just a hate group but as a place where vampire fans can go without hearing "oh my god Twilight is so awesome!". I'm still working on the group but glad to have you with us. :)

I'm originally from Denmark, but I live and work in the Netherlands.
Been loving vamps and vampire literature (and movies too of course) for as long as I can remember.
Looking forward to interact with you guys so we can share tips on what to read and what to avoid ;-)

Welcome, Rick. Glad to have you with us. I've read some short stories by Poppy Z. Brite but have not gotten to Lost Souls yet. But I plan to.

You won't be disappointed.
Warning; Intended for mature audiences. Contains strong language, violence and sexual content.
Welcome to the group, Danielle. We're happy to have you with us. Your book sounds very interesting, I'd like to hear more about it. :)

As you can easily check I rated Twilight 5 stars, but I am not a fan. I enjoyed reading it back then, as it was something new, but afterwards forgot about it and went on to the next book. Later, I tried the first movie and hated it, and I definitely can't understand the hype with so many other good books out there. Also, I think of Twilight as a trilogy, as I consider the fourth part a huge mistake.
Today I feel tempted to give a lower rating just to distance myself from the Twilight groupies, but that wouldn't be honest, so live with it! :[

That one definitely was great! I watched the original movie and loved it. Never bothered for the US remake, as I'm sure it can only be worse.

My book is The Blood Poetry and, among other things, includes terrifying yet interesting vampire characters: the protagonist's repugnant mother; Pentecostal vampires who have given up live victims; and, the protagonist's stepfather and epicenter of all evil, Professor Applebaum. In a review Horror Talk gave my novel five stars and said, "The Blood Poetry is visceral, brutally honest, cerebral, entertaining..."
Happy reading and looking forward to discussions.

welcome, Leland. I don't know what happened with the Author Promotion folder. I'll take a look and try to get that set up for you. :)

Thanks, Dan.
Welcome, Kyle. Anne Rice, Dracula, and Salem's Lot....you have very good taste my friend. Tell me, have you read the abomination which is called Twilight?

Jessa here. (Thanks for the invite, Dustin.)
Rice, Stoker, Vlad the Impaler, "The Lost Boys"... "30 Days Night" and Nosferatu to a lesser degree (would even prefer Geena Davis in "Transylvania 65000" to "Twilight"). Just not my cup 'o ginger tea.
Nice to meet everyone!

Welcome Jessa! Welcome Gary! Good to have you join our army. LOL.

Yes, Lucy. We need to spread the word. By the way, I have added some new stuff to your profile name.

Thanks for the invite. I'm a Young Adult author. My debut THE SECOND SIGN is a Dark Paranormal Romance. No vamps but loads of evil demons. =) My favorites are Interview with a Vampire, Salems lot, and The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa (YA).

I know some of you, but see many unfamiliar faces, so here goes. I am Dustin, hailing from the Pacific-Northwest. Nearly four months ago (tempus fugit, indeed!) our beautiful baby boy was born, and we couldn't be happier! Every moment is cherished.
King is my all-time favorite author, but I'm much more versatile than that. I enjoy a wide variety of genre's.
Admittedly, I have read the Twilight Saga, along with the novella. I certainly didn't love it, but actually enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

I´m Brazillian, I´m a suspense author and my first novel, Two, is currently for sale at Amazon.
I love thrillers and horror mostly but I´m open to other genres as long as the plot is consistent and the characters behave like someone that could actually exist, despite being a vampire or werewolf.

Congratulations on being published."
Thank you so much Kyle!!!

My name is Salma but everybody calls me Sally.
I made a whole presentation about how I despise Twilight to my class. Is that enough? ;3
I'm Egyptian and yada yada.
I hope I have fun here!
Thanks for the invitation Kyle!

I love bad-ass vampires. I've read all the classics of the genre from Dracula,I am Legend and Salem's Lot, up to the newer versions like The Passage or The Twelve.
Toss in a couple of McCammon vampire books, and his new one coming out soon (I Travel by Night, and toss in a couple of Alan Ryker's vamps too Burden Kansas and I think I'm pretty up to date.
Just the thought of a sparkling vampire makes me want to puke. I could not possibly care less about anything Twilight related.

Hello, I'm Kimberly. I absolutely abhor all things Twilight related. I enjoy vampire stories that are done "they way they should be"--in my opinion, of course--LOL!
Favorites of mine include Alan Ryker's BURDEN KANSAS, SALEM'S LOT, THEY THIRST (very excited about McCammon's new one!), and accounts of Vlad the Impaler. Thank you for the invite, Kyle!

Welcome Charlene. Those are all awesome books you have listed there. Glad to have you with us :)
Welcome, Kimberly. It seems a lot of the people who are coming in here are talking about the same books. Well I know that Salem's Lot is great.
