Too bad you can't lend out the same books more than once and to different people. That's the one thing I don't like about the nook. If I have the hard copy, I can lend it out as many times as I want and to whoever I want. That's the way it should be on the nook, you know. You own the book and should be able to do with it what you want.

I couldn't agree more. It wouldn't be hard to do; just remove the one time only feature. Sure, you can't read it or loan it while it is on loan but you can't a DT book anyhow. I might buy more Nook books instead of checking them out from the library if that were the case. As it is, I still spend my money on DT books.

I'm sure they get enough flack about it, but maybe if they get enough, they might do something about it.

It's not like we are charging people. It's our book we bought it.

Emailing a book to someone else is a violation of the author's/publisher's copyright. Most authors who do allow sharing also charge less for the ebook format than for the print format which means they are making less money off of each of these.
Unfortunately the balance of the ease of abusing ebooks against the possible swap, sell or share of print books is a difficult line for those trying to make money in the industry. As it is, books are illegally posted on sites all the time and those of use who want "our authors" to succeed are enraged at this flagrant violation of their rights, but as readers we want to be able to share as we always have.

Thanks.
