Renzo sighed as he walked into the barracks, going over to his bunk and getting in the trunk at the foot of it, digging through the mess to find a new shirt, as he had spilled water all over the front after his workout, and he couldn't have girls noticing that. Finding a soft new tee, he pulled his shirt off, stuffing it back in the trunk.
Emma slipped past a few other boys, making her way to an all too familiar bunk. Ever since his disappearance, she had made it her own oath to check up on him everyday. She couldn't imagine the pain of losing your other half, and she knew that Renzo was hurting, it was impossible for him not to be, though he didn't show it and it bothered her a little. Soon enough, she spotted him slipping his shirt off and quietly, she made her way to him. "Hey you." She murmured softly, stepping beside him.
Hearing Emma's voice, Renzo turned, then smiled slightly, pulling his shirt on. "Hey, you. How are you doing today? Drawn anything spectacular?" She was the one girl in camp that he didn't act like he was the world to, for obvious reasons. He knew that she missed Vitale almost as much as he did, and he had made it his mission to keep her out of trouble, to make sure none of the other guys hassled her about going out or anything like that. She was like a sister to him.
A small smile appeared on her face at his words. But that smile soon broke into a grin at the last comment made, "No. I haven't been very inspired lately." She sighed and then glanced around before looking at his T-shirt for a few moments. "But apart from that, I've been doing fairly well." She paused for a moment before looking up at him, "How have you been?" She asked quietly, wordlessly referring to Vitale being gone. On her side, she was making sure Renzo didn't get too carried away by wooing women off of their feet, he was like a brother to her.
(Aha...)
(Aha...)
((They're making sure that they're single for life? XD))
Renzo's smile flickered as he sat down on his bed, patting the space next to him for her to sit down. "I'm doing alright. I mean, it really hasn't gotten any easier, but I'm learning how to cope better." He shrugged, "And you? You're doing alright?"

((LOL! I guess so!! XD))
Emma looked down at Renzo and then took a seat beside him, looking up at him as he spoke. She glanced down when he asked her and then sighed quietly, weaving her fingers together. "I...I think I'm doing alright." She murmured quietly, "Like you said, it hasn't gotten any easier but I'm learning to cope with it." She agreed quietly. "But...he's been in my dreams lately...and.." She glanced up at him, frowning slightly, "Do you ever wonder what happened to him?"

Renzo nodded quietly, "All the time. And then I have to stop myself because I imagine the worst." He bit his lip, then scratched at the back of his head, watchimg the other boys in the barracks. "But you know whatever happened ot wasn't by his choice. He would never have willingly left a girl he loved so much," he set his hand on her knee gently.
Emma stared at his hand on her knee and then looked up at him. "I think..." She swallowed the lump that was slowly rising in her throat, "I think...that the worst has happened to him." She said finally, laying her hand over his gently, still looking up at him. "I just...I just hope it was quick...that...that he didn't suffer." She whispered softly. "And there's no way he would be able to leave you without a warning...you guys were so close..."
Renzo forced himself to look away. He had been expecting the worst as well, but he couldn't let himself think that it had actually happened. "You know Vitale, he was probably being so kind to his attackers that they gave him the choice of how he died. Quickly and painlessly." Turning back to look at her, "We discussed that when we were younger, how we wanted to die. He wanted to grow old with his wife and die in his sleep, and I wanted to die locked in battle, or skydiving, or something."
Emma bit her lip, giving a small nod. She desperately hoped that Renzo was right. That he had been given the choice to die quickly and painlessly. She couldn't help but give a small laugh, "Of course...Renzo...died at the age of ninety years old due to sky diving incident." She said in a deeper, announcer voice. Em grew a little serious once more and slid her hand under his gently, taking it in hers. "But if anything...he's in a better place. He's in heaven. There's gotta be for people like him.." She smiled faintly, blinking back tears.
Renzo laughed quietly, then squeezed her hand gently, "There's probably a special part of heaven, roped off for him. And of course, there's a reserved seat for you, but not until you do grow old." He smiled weakly, stretching his neck then biting his lip. "I'll be lucky to get into any part of heaven, though."
Emma smiled and bit her lip gently, frowning. "Hey..I'm sure you're gonna have the biggest sector of heaven anyone has ever gotten." She told him softly, squeezing his hand in return. "You're a really nice guy, Renzo, it'd be a grave mistake if you didn't wind up in there." She told him. "Just don't overdo your working out...you've been doing that a lot, lately.."
"But look, I've got biceps," Renzo wanted to lighten the mood, holding up his free arm, flexing. "There's nothing wrong with having biceps, you know. But if I do keep working out, I'm going to need that large sector just to fit."
Emma laughed and rolled her eyes, "Oh my," She said sarcastically and then looked at them. "I see nothing, look at these guns!" She flexed her own arm, "You've got nothing compared to me." She teased, leaning up and kissing her bicep before grinning. "I could take you down anytime!"
"What, those are guns? I thought those were water pistols, and not even the good ones," he teased, nudging her slightly with a grin on his face. "I guess they'd come in handy if you wanted to squirt someone to death."
"Hey! They may be water pistols but they're better than your sticks!" She teased back, giggling quietly. "Squirting someone to death is very deadly, I'll have you know." She told him, using a fake professor voice.
Renzo mimicked her, then shoved her lightly, "Sticks? These must be redwood sticks, then," he grinned, remembering a vacation he had been on when he was young, to the Redwood forest in California.
Emma laughed and shoved him back just the same, "No no..those are like...dead branch sticks!" She grinned, liking that he was smiling, it meant that things weren't too bad on the inside, she figured. "Which reminds you that I'm going to try to go get some pictures of the Red Phantom Forest..." She murmured quietly. "You think there's an actual ghost?"
Renzo chuckled, then ran a hand through his hair. "I don't know, do you believe in ghosts?" His voice took on a serious tone, "I hear it's called the Red Phantom Forest because of the ghosts that wander through, and they're red from all the blood spilt on the soil there. And if the moon is full, some say that you can see them, in all their bloody glory."
Emma shuddered at his description, her nose scrunched up a little. "I want to catch a picture of one...if they do exist." She said quietly, biting her lip. "And, maybe I'll find the Ochard and bring back some fruit." She murmured quietly, smiling slightly.
Renzo smiled and sat up straighter, "If you want, I'll go along for protection, in case you get scared or something?" He grinned, "I think the biggest, meanest ghosts guard the Orchard."
Emma smiled and rolled her eyes playfully, standing up. "I'll be fine." She assured him, "I'll just go before it gets too dark though...don't try to scare me." She grinned, looking down at him.
"Oh, you think you're tough now, wait until you meet the Bloody Spectre!" Renzo chuckled, standing up and leaning against the bedpost. "But don't worry; they're not your biggest problems."
Emma tsked him and smacked his arm playfully, "Oh shush up, Renzo!" She told him, leaning her weight on one side of her hips. "Oh? What would be my biggest problem?" She asked him, arching an eyebrow curiously.
Renzo bit his lip, remembering how scared she was of vampires, and he didn't want her real scared. He shrugged, "Me."
Emma had completely forgotten about the vampire part of the forest, and was only focused on taking the pictures, it hadn't occured to her that she wouldn't be sheltered from them. "Hey, Mr.Stick...I could beat you any day with my water pistols." She grinned.
"Fine, whatever, I'll just stay here." He shrugged, laying back down on his bed. "See if I care."
((I forgot she was scared of vamps...O_O
Thanks for discretely reminding me! XD))
Emma smiled and leaned down, kissing his forehead gently before she straightened. "I'll see you later, alright?" She said, taking a few steps back. "Better not get yourself into any trouble, or you'll be squirted to death." She grinned.

((No problem. XD))
Renzo grinned and blew her a kiss, "Have fun being a Ghostbuster, alright? I'll be waiting here for your stories!"

((XD))
Emma giggled and saluted him like some soldier would and then grinned, waving at him before she went off in direction of the forest.
((IS IT TIME???!?!?!?! FOR THE GRAND REUNION?!?!))
