I caught a nasty flu bug last week, which is strange because I hardly get sick and its currently summer where I'm from. I suppose I will now because I should. Any Thoughts?

I hope you feel better soon, Aliyah.I never get the flu shot, Heidi rants about them, but LG loves them. We've discussed it here: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1... (this thread seems to be missing several comments) and here: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...
Not all nasty bugs are influenza. You don't really know if it was influenza or not unless they test you for it. I've had various bugs, fewer as an adult than as a child, but I'm really not certain that I've ever had the flu. People describe it as being so awful they can't move and want to die. I get the shot every year.
True. I had a really nasty bug a few weeks ago, but when I went to the doctor she tested me and it was negative for the flu. So it was just some nasty virus that I had to wait out. I didn't end up getting a flu shot this winter, but I sometimes do.
Flu season usually goes to April, so it would still benefit you to get it. Also the immunity in the shot lasts 2-3 years, meaning you will be protected against those strains in that particular shot (not all flu strains) for 2-3 years.
