This book has been on my to-read list for a very long time. I saw the movie on TV about 20 years ago and decided I wanted to read it, but never got started. When I came to goodreads.com in 2011, it was the first book I added to my to-read list. So it is the earliest book by a long shot. I have read a few reviews since I decided to read it, and I am finding the same thing that other people have said, that it takes a lot of concentration and it starts very slow. I am finding it difficult to get into the story right now, but everybody says it gets better, and the movie was very exciting, so I know it does. I will keep reading because it's Dickens and I love everything that I have ever read by him, and I want to get to the good parts.

Or tenth? Anyway, it was downright dull in the beginning, so I didn't end up reading much of it... until our group discussions got to the more exciting bits of the story. I quite enjoyed the bits of it that I did end up reading, but I still have never read the book all the way through; I'm hoping to read its entirety something this year.
