Christi (trumpetchick) | 309 comments What are your favorite books?
Personally, I love Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451.

message 2: by Rebekah (new)

Rebekah That's on my booklist...but my favorite books at the moment are Lord of the Rings, anything by Tolkien, The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, To Kill a Mockingbird, etc. I could go on for a while :)

Christi (trumpetchick) | 309 comments I'm not a big chick lit fan, since it just kind of gets boring at times... but have you guys heard of Erynn Mangum and Jenny B. Jones? They write books that have made me split my sides laughing with moments that have also made me shed a tear or two. I love them so much.

No, I haven't heard of either of them. Is there a favorite book I should start with?

message 7: by Rebekah (new)

Rebekah I haven't either...but I'd be interested in reading them!

Kathryn Hewitt (khnovels) | 1 comments Snow by Kathryn Hewitt

Guess what? This book is only $0.99 at amazon.com. A novel, based on a true story, about dating, abortion, and the power of God. This will inspire you in your walk with the Lord, knowing that God listens to every prayer and catches every tear.
Please make sure you leave a review, if you choose to download it. It won't be $0.99 for long!
Thank you! :)

That - after the Bible - is the best book ever written. So good on so many levels. I just got chills thinking of my favorite line - "Stand up, Jean Louise. Your father's passin."

Christi (trumpetchick) | 309 comments GAH, that book is awesome! We read it freshman year and I loved it. Liked the movie, too, but as always, the book was better. ;)

Audrey ~AudgPaudg~ (audgpaudg) | 57 comments I saw a thing on Pinterest. It was the grumpy cat reading that book. He said, "What? It doesn't say anywhere in here on how to kill a mockingbird!"
Basically, when I'm old enough I shall read it.

Christi, I'm with you exactly about the movie.
Audrey, I LOVE Grumpy Cat. That's too funny!
Elizabeth, you are the first person I have ever heard say you didn't like it!

message 17: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (fantasynerd365) I like books that are more actiony.

message 18: by Christi (new)

Christi (trumpetchick) | 309 comments I like several different things, but I'm not too fond of chick lit. There have been a few good novels in that genre, but I don't like most chick lit.

Fauuzzie (faize) I prefer non-paranormal books, although that isn't a dealbreaker. And if any a y'alls hasn't checked out The White Darkness by Geraldine McCaughrean , I HIGHLY recommend that you do. Pure awesomeness:D

Myra Rebekah wrote: "That's on my booklist...but my favorite books at the moment are Lord of the Rings, anything by Tolkien, The Hunger Games, Harry Potter, To Kill a Mockingbird, etc. I could go on for a while :)" Hi Rebekah, I really liked the Hunger Games and Harry Potter as well! Would love to read the Lord of the Rings some time soon. Honestly I've never read To Kill a Mockingbird, maybe I need to..

I love chick-lit books, because I am a SERIOUS girly-girl, and I like fantasy/adventure books... the kind that keeps me wanting to read more. I also like realistic fiction. Partially because I feel that I want to have the lives that the main characters have. Yes, in the beginning, they always have a problem or something, but in the end, they've accomplished it. That doesn't really happen in my life... I just sit around saying what kids want me to say &/or doing things they want me to do. (THERE ARE LIMITS FOR ME!!!) :)
