I like that first cover you posted. I like ones that are almost all one solid colour.

Which one?
Which one?
A book cover will usually get me to read the description if it's an author I am unfamiliar with. The description is why I ultimately choose it but catchy covers has lead me to great books and amazing authors.
Ultimately I don't think it'll ever hurt a book to have a attractive cover. I try to make a point to look at all kinds of book. But those that don't read often most likely go for the "pretty" books.

I don't think I have every judged a book by it's cover...when I go to the bookstore I think I pick up every single book in the place and read them all!!!!!

They say; never judge a book by its cover...
Lets be honest here, we have all done it. But how much does it affect our decision?
Do you choose you books based on their appearance? When you're in a book store, are you more like to pick a book up to read if it has a pretty cover?
What about a book catches you eye first? Colour, bold print, sparkle...?
What are some of your favourite and least favourite cover art you've seen?
