Okay, I'll start. I'm a self taught artist. I started drawing when I was two, and never stopped. I work mostly in ballpoint, a passion I developed doodling during boring lectures.
I draw mostly from imagination, and take very little inspiration from the world around me, although occasionally, something simple will set me off. I like to draw the image, scan it, and then augment the imperfections in the paper to make it look more aged.
From an early age I drew female archetypes. Witches, Priestesses, Goddesses, Dryads, Sorceresses, and Druidesses. My mother, who was largely the inspiration for these images, found it all very exasperating.
I'm currently working on a sort of field guide to Indic deities with illustrations and iconographic explanations.

We are both a bit sick on the head and love our monsters. Between his crotch faces and my vampire babies, I'd say we might even be a little more than a bit sick.
Hi Armada. Crotch faces and vampire babies! Love the sound of it :):)
I think it would be lovely to have photos of each others work, and of those artists we admire, in the groups photos. What do you think? I'm also thinking a thread for each member, for any links to websites etc.
Oh, and I'm Gina. Artist and writer too. Photography and mixed media. Gothic tinge. :)

 Hi, guys!
Hi, guys!I don't know if any of you know me but I'm not an artist. I came here to share with you something that you definitely made this group to find out more about: my new dystopian novel. I implore you to check it out! I posted it on the shelves here, but it got deleted...
Any reason for that? I thought it was fair. Dystopia and visual art...two peas in a pod! Are they not?
Outraged.
Dear Outraged. Your effort was valiant, but flawed. One does not drop one's book off in groups at random, especially if the subject matter does not match the group criteria. it would be prudent, sir, to proceed on goodreads with less haste, it could be seen as rude...
Spam, sir, is as labeled. You will find many here, are adverse to the taste.
:D:D

P.S. Welcome to the group Kyle. :D:D

Glompies, peeps! I think you all know me from that other group, but you probably didn't know that as well as being a crappy writer I'm also a crappy painter. Mostly I work in acrylics, and...oooh! Georgina, are you going to create a thread where we can spam our artwork? I love annoying people with all my doodles. =^ᴗ^=

I love to visualize whirled peas! If you pay me a million dollars, I'll paint the cover for it. *gets crayons*
Yay, Ederyn is here too! :D:D Yes to the threads for spamming of one's art! I love seeing people's work!
Can't wait to see Kyle's dystopian pea novel's new cover too. :D
(Why is that last sentence such a mouthful to say?)

      :D:D I picture it in shades of...green.

50 Shades of Dystopian Pea Green...I can see it now--a best seller in the making!

With it's many green pea shoots, the mad pea whips it's pods. Before anyone discovers it's perversion, the mad pea changes its colour to the fifties shade of pea green.
With it's many green pea shoots, the mad pea whips it's pods. Before anyone discovers it's perversion, the mad pea changes its colour to the fifties shade of pea green. But all is not lost, for the colourblind crayon is not easily fooled. As the colourblind crayon tries to find the pea, the world is taken over by the fifty clones of the terrible pea, each whipping it's pods.
The world drowns in the sea of pod whipping madness. The crayon is the only one who doesn't succumb to it for he has no pods.
Why am I picturing Jerry Seinfeld and Ellen DeGeneres as the voices for this soon to be epic CG movie? =^ᴗ^=

Mad Pea and Colourblind Crayon. I reckon I like these two characters already! Clearly Colourblind Crayon (how's that for alliteration?) will be played by Ellen DeGeneres. :D:D

Yes, a sure fire block buster! We can now all safely quit our day jobs, sit back, and wait for the money to start rolling in...:D

Of course, after that we'd have to make a sequel and a prequel...
But of course! When you're onto a good thing, flog it to death. By the way, any chance of including some flogging somewhere? A few fetishes maybe? Racy undertones, that kind of thing? It just feels like it goes with the title.

Everyone is infected with the desire to either flog or be flogged. Flogging quickly becomes a law. Everyone who refuses to get flogged is sent to prisons. Colourblind crayon has to go through great length not to get caught for being an antiflogger.

I am Vincent. I'm a self taught artist and Armada's husband. I was told about this pea story and thought I should contribute. I did this in under an hour, so don't judge too harshly.

Oh, I love it! It's perfect, AND there's flogging too. :D:D:D

Really like this...
Oooh, we've been so quiet lately that I hadn't noticed we have a whole bunch of new members. Glompies, citizens!

Great! Welcome all! Feel free to start new threads and add your own in our GR artists folder. :):)

Yes, but the glomp has benefit that the victim has no real chance to shy away, which can prove advantageous. By the way Ederyn, is it your work, in your avatar?

Aaron wrote: "By the way Ederyn, is it your work, in your avatar?"Oh, definitely not. I only WISH I were that talented! It's from a manga or a video game, I think, but I'm not sure. If I could read Japanese, I could tell you. =^ₒ^= Here's the full image: (view spoiler)["br"]>["br"]>
She is! And kinda steampunky. Though I hate her shoes. Heh. Oooh, I just noticed the word MMORPG amongst the kanji, so she must be from a game. *nod nod*

And she kind of reminds me of Rosanna Arquette who was a favourite of mine. I watched Desperately Seeking Susan about twenty times, and 8 Million Ways to Die about five.

   Hi everyone :)
Hi everyone :)I'm a painter with a serious writing problem. I'm determined to get my butt in gear and paint more this year, and maybe watching all of you fine people get busy (making art!) will motivate me.

You look familiar. =^ᴗ^= Glad you're here! We seriously DO need to help motivate one another. I've got at least three unfinished canvases, but if the book doesn't get done first, I'll never finish it. Only the book is so hard, that I end up doing nothing. Waaaah!
 @Aaron : For sure!
@Aaron : For sure!@Ederyn : I paint with acrylics too, and I have EXACTLY three unfinished canvases staring me down right now - It's like we're living in parallel universes (universi?) :)
My problem is, when I DO have time all I seem to want to do lately is write. I'm definitely a serial-obsessive.
      Hi and welcome, Derrolyn. :):)
