Hi Didi,

I'm so glad you're enjoying the series! I haven't found Seth's heroine yet, so I'm not sure when his story will hit shelves. I can tell you, however, that Seth's love life (or lack thereof) sparks a bit of interest in Darkness Rises. :-) I hope you'll like it!

Alice (yankeealleycat) | 20 comments I agree with Didi, but I was also wondering if you will be giving David a turn with the ladies soon? I can't wait for May and October.

Hi, Alice! I definitely want David to have his own book, but haven't decided yet whether his will come before or after Seth's. I think both elders are going to be quite a challenge when it comes to finding their perfect heroines. :-)

message 5: by Alice (new)

Alice (yankeealleycat) | 20 comments Good morning Dianne. Oh, I agree that it will be difficult finding the perfect heroines, but I know you can and will do it. I just can't wait for May, I know Richart's story is going to be good. I like the way you ended Bastien & Melanie's story. I know some of the other authors, not all of them, but I think they will be up to the task of keeping up with you.

message 6: by Gabriella (last edited Mar 18, 2013 05:39AM) (new)

Gabriella I'd like to read Seth's and David's stories too. But I thought that Seth was a bit different from what he was like in the 2 previous books.

Dianne do you plan to write a stoy about Chris? Or Sheldon or Darnell?

message 7: by Alice (new)

Alice (yankeealleycat) | 20 comments Hello Gabriella. Can you explain what you mean when you say "Seth was a bit different from what he was like in the 2 previous books."?

message 8: by Gabriella (new)

Gabriella Alice wrote: "Hello Gabriella. Can you explain what you mean when you say "Seth was a bit different from what he was like in the 2 previous books."?"

Sure Alice.
I thought he was angrier and more hurt. Not a good combination.
I put 2 scenes in the spoiler backets, as to not spoil the book for others who haven't read Phantom Shadows yet.
(view spoiler)
Don't get me wrong. I still like Seth, he just got more depth and isn't as unfallible as before. He seems more human. *grin*

message 9: by Alice (new)

Alice (yankeealleycat) | 20 comments Yes, now I agree with those observations. I saw that in few others also and did you notice that they all pertain to that one 'person' with Seth. I like Seth too, and David!! I wish they would make a movie about the first book! I can picture Roland!! Who would be a good Roland???

message 10: by Gabriella (new)

Gabriella LOL, yes a movie or a TV series, would be great.

message 11: by Alice (new)

Alice (yankeealleycat) | 20 comments OH yeah, give Vampire Diaries competition!!! I could just see Roland when the towel drops in front of Sarah!! I love it! I think they should get some actors who are unknowns to play the Immortals. They also need to stick to the stories in the books. Dianne knows the score and she has great plans for the future of the Immortals!! I just can't wait for May and October!!

message 12: by Gabriella (new)

Gabriella Bastien! *Sigh* *Can you see me drooling?*

Spoilers ahead!

Oh, and the scene when Marcus refers to himself as "pond scum". Or when Sarah stabs Bastien.
There are so many great scenes in all the books. Not just the funny scenes, but also the intense scenes. Like Ami and Zack talking.
These books really deserve to be made into a TV series or movie.

message 13: by Alice (new)

Alice (yankeealleycat) | 20 comments You are right. I think Dianne knows the score and can really do a great job working with a movie director. Got to keep it with the book though. I agree about the intense scenes there were some really great ones in all the books so far.

message 14: by Dianne (last edited Jul 14, 2013 12:17PM) (new)

Dianne Duvall (dianne_duvall) | 23 comments Hi Alice and Gabriella! I have to figure out why I'm not receiving notifications when messages are posted here, because I didn't even know a discussion had taken place!

I really would like to write Chris, Darnell, and Sheldon's stories, but wasn't sure if readers would be interested in them since they're mortal. Sheldon actually has some pretty interesting scenes in Darkness Rises and Book 5. I hope you'll like them!

I'm glad you're enjoying Seth, even though he isn't infallible. ;-) I always try to inject as much realism as possible into my stories, so you won't find any perfect characters in them. Each and every one has flaws, some more than others. *cough* Sheldon *cough* And those flaws can sometimes manifest themselves in unexpected ways. Ami is like a daughter to Seth. He loves her dearly. So he tends to react instantly and furiously whenever he believes someone has purposefully endangered her life. I think most parents tend to react angrily when they think someone has endangered their daughter's life, either on purpose or through irresponsible behavior. Seth just happens to be a loooooooooooot more powerful than most parents. LOL.

And I would LOVE to see the series made into movies or a TV series. Talk about a dream come true! I even put together a dream cast for almost every blog tour. Here's hoping it'll happen someday! :-)

message 15: by Gabriella (new)

Gabriella Oh yes, Seth is so much more powerful than normal parents, but they all react in the same way. Well without the weather changes...
After reading Darkness Rises, I see what you mean that Seth isn't infallible.
Dianne, when do you plan to write Seth's and David's stories?

I liked the scene in Darkness Rises (view spoiler)

I'd really love to read Chris, Darnell and Sheldon's stories.

message 16: by Alice (new)

Alice (yankeealleycat) | 20 comments I too would love to read Chris, Darnell, and Sheldon's stories. Actually I think Sheldon's would be very interesting from an historical point of view as well as paranormal. My heart is set on movies for your Immortal Guardians. Then maybe a tv show. It's time to give us readers something that would sell and give Dianne a chance to show her talent. She surely deserves it.

message 17: by Gabriella (new)

Gabriella A TV series would be phenomenal...
Hm, Dianne you said that you've already put together a dream cast. Who's part of that cast?

Alice have you read Darkness Rises yet?

message 18: by Alice (last edited Oct 05, 2013 02:12AM) (new)

Alice (yankeealleycat) | 20 comments no, wish I could, can't afford to buy, I'm disabled and only one check a month doesn't cut it sometimes. you know. I've heard it's very good and can't wait!! Have you read it?? Has it reached all your expectations? We'll have to wait a whole year for another. Maybe Dianne can write a novella while we wait for the real thing!

message 19: by Gabriella (new)

Gabriella I'm sorry to hear that Alice. Yes, I've read the book and loved it. LOL, more like devoured it. It's amazing and that's what makes it so hard to have to wait another year for the next book. I want to know how the story continues. So, while I'd love another novella, I'll be even happier if the next book would come out earlier.

message 20: by Alice (new)

Alice (yankeealleycat) | 20 comments Thank you Gabriella. You are a good person. I can just imagine how you feel about waiting to see what happens next. It's frustrating, but Dianne's only human and she's right, she wishes she could write faster, not only for us but for herself for she looks into the characters to see what happens next also. I often wondered how she came up with just the right stuff to hold us readers interest and come up with the names. She has a great imagination. Add that to a great writer and we are getting spoiled. I just love how she plays one book into the other. But I still wish for a movie or tv show. Don't you?

message 21: by Gabriella (new)

Gabriella Thank you Alice.
Well, we're all human...so, if I wish for the books to come out faster, I know its really unlikely for it to happen, but sometimes we all wish for something, we know that won't and can't happen for different reasons...I don't want Dianne to overwork herself, I don't want a book that's written without love and thought...but there's this teeny tiny voice of impatience that wants more, knowing its not possible...

Like I said before a TV series would be phenomenal and so cool!

message 22: by Alice (last edited Oct 06, 2013 09:56AM) (new)

Alice (yankeealleycat) | 20 comments Don't forget, Gabriella, that the novella Dianne had written introduced us to Richart's story in "Predatory". It even explained some history behind Roland's life. Dianne poured a lot into a small space. She is so talented! I admit that Stephanie Meyer is talented in her own genre (young adults), but Dianne has the adult genre highly covered; just to find the right director or person willing to take the chance on her abilities.

message 23: by Alice (new)

Alice (yankeealleycat) | 20 comments Gabriella, I was always thinking of movies for the Immortals, but there's just too much to tell, we would need a tv series for sure. lol.

message 24: by Alice (new)

Alice (yankeealleycat) | 20 comments I hope I didn't offend anyone, especially you Gabriella. I'm sorry if I did.

message 27: by Gabriella (last edited Oct 14, 2013 07:16AM) (new)

Gabriella Heather, I've found an interview with Dianne where she talked about the next book.
Here's what she said:
Right now I’m working on Night Unbound, Immortal Guardians Book 5. It features as heroine Lisette d’Alençon, Étienne and Richart’s sister. She has labored so long beneath the guilt of accidentally transforming them. I wanted her to have her own HEA. And, since you are particularly fond of Seth, I’ll tell you that you’ll see him a lot in Night Unbound. It will be released in 2014, but I’m not sure when. I’d give you an exclusive teaser, but I’m pretty obsessive about not letting anyone see any part of my manuscript before I finish writing and editing it.

The complete interview can be found on Kindles & Wine.

Got a great build, looks big and has a patrician nose. Do you know who I mean and what do you think?

Sorry for the delayed response! The weeks leading up to and immediately following a book release are always so busy and chaotic! I actually updated my dream cast for my blog tour and it just posted today. I even included pics. It was a particularly fun guest post to compose. :-) Here's a link: Darkness Rises Dream Cast

I haven't seen NCIS: Los Angeles. I'll have to take a look at the cast. For my Dream Cast post over on Urban Fantasy Investigations, I went with Djimon Hounsou for David. He doesn't have the hip-length dredlocks (who in Hollywood does?), but he has the accent and the looks and is a great actor. :-)

I SO wish Hollywood would come knocking and make my Immortal Guardians series a TV show or a series of films! It certainly has what I call "Michael Bay" moments that would draw action movie lovers to the theaters. :-) That would be a dream come true!

Hi, Heather! I'm so glad you liked Darkness Rises! You, too, Gabriella!

As Gabriella mentioned, I'm working on Book 5 — NIGHT UNBOUND — right now. I can't remember if I've mentioned anywhere who Lisette's hero will be, but . . . it will be Zach! And I'm really loving their story. It's darker than some of the others in places. And Seth is having a particularly difficult time in this one. If you've read Darkness Rises, you've probably guessed it's because of the bombshell dropped near the end of that one. But don't worry, the light, humorous moments are there, too. :-)

And there will be at least seven books in the series, almost certainly more. I'm pretty sure it will take me longer than seven to fit in Seth and David's stories and I'm looking forward to telling those. :-)

message 37: by Gabriella (new)

Gabriella Thank you Dianne.
Your dream cast is really impressive. Here's my dream cast...there are some differences.

Bastian – Melanie
Jake Gyllenhaal - Erica Durance
Marcus – Ami
Jonathan Rhys Meyers – Adrianne Palicki
Roland – Sarah
Gerard Butler – Kate Beckinsale
Etienne – Krysta Linz
Sam Worthington – Cobi Smulders
Cameron
Channing Tatum
Richard – Jenna
Sam Worthington – Jenifer Garner
Sheldon
Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Lisette – Zach
Gal Gadot - Chris Hemsworth
Seth
John Barrowman
David
Tyrese Gibson
Darnell
Taye Diggs
Chris Reardon
Alex O’Laughin
Sean Linz
Chris Evans

The one who betrayed Seth...is it one of (view spoiler)?
Seven books -- hm, that only leaves David and Seth's stories - but what about Darnell or Chris? I would so love to read their stories too. Or Sean...I like him in Darkness Rises and would love to read more about him too.

I am in love with this series, i read all of your books 3 or 4 times :)) and i always fall in love with every character, but Seth,David and Zach are in the top of my list, they are very good looking. From what i've read i understood that you are writing Zach's book, but i am dying to read about Seth and David, more about Seth, i have a weakness for tall and strong men :)
Now, i am sorry for my grammar mistakes :)

Hmm. I see some here that I'll keep in mind when I update my dream cast with the next book's release. :-)

I'd like to write Darnell and Chris's stories and probably will eventually. Sheldon's, too, if you can believe it. So I don't see the series ending after 7 books. As for your other question, I can't answer that without it being a major spoiler for Book 5, so you'll have to wait and find out when Seth does. :-)

Hi, Raluca! I'm so happy to hear you're enjoying the series! Zach's book is indeed next. He and Lisette are the hero and heroine of NIGHT UNBOUND, Book 5, which I'm writing now. Seth plays a very prominent role in it, so I hope you'll like it. :-)

Alice (yankeealleycat) | 20 comments I'm so glad to see so many getting involved in this discussion. The word must have gotten out Gabriella. It's good to see the interest taking place. Dianne, you've got all the makings for movies and tv series. Movies because the censors cut some slack with rating (due to sexual content-and we wouldn't want to miss that!!!) Tv series because there is so much to tell. I'm hoping somebody comes along and grabs this series up!! I'm picking up Darkness Rises this weekend so I'm glad you all didn't spoil it for me (I'd read it 4 times anyway!! lol)

Chris, Darnell and Sheldon...YAY! I'm so happy that the series will go one for some more books.

Spoiler for Book 5? *grumble* I don't like waiting. Seriously, I could be the poster girl for impatience.

I'm like that too. I used to be a reader for a blind college instructor and loved it.

I think the books are always better than the movies, but we'll deal with it for the series and Dianne's sake. Even though she may get to do the movies or tv shows, she can't control everything that the directors and producers do for the sake of money. But I love this attitude that everyone on here has about Dianne and her talented series, it's really awesome!!

Alice (yankeealleycat) | 20 comments I picked up Darkness Rises last night, so if I'm not on here for a little while you'll know why. Keep it going everyone, someone has to take notice of Dianne's talent and our love of her series. It helps to write positive reviews for her books when you can!!
