Introducing Brittany, Cassie and Lauren, your lovely mods for this group!

I am 22-year-old RN with a passion for reading and writing. I love old movies (Casablanca anyone?) and I adore the Classic books like Pride and Prejudice and Jane Eyre). About a year ago, though, I've discovered the fascinating world of Young Adult literature. That fascination really began when I read The Hunger Games, and I've been hooked ever since. I'm also part Korean by my mother. Some of my favorite YA authors include: Lauren Oliver, Ruta Sepetys, Suzanne Collins, Cynthia Hand, Veronica Roth, and Stephanie Perkins. Those are just to name a few.

Here are some other unique facts:

1. I play the piano.
2. I have traveled to Mexico, South Korea, Canada, and China.
3. I love fairytales and disney movies just a little too much.
4. I hate peas (they are gross and mushy!)
5. I have quite an eclectic taste it music (from country to rock, from indie to pop)

Hi all! I'm Brittany and I'm 23 years old. I've graduated college with a degree in Anthropology and a concentration in Archaeology. So, I guess I could be called a rookie archaeologist, though for the moment, I'm focusing more on getting into graduate school than actually digging. I hope to go to graduate school for zooarchaeology, which is a branch of archaeology that focuses specifically on animal remains and their association with humans in the past. So, yes. I love bones. The dustier, the better.

I've been on two archaeological digs so far. The first in high school to Sachsen Cave Shelter, which is a late Archaic rock shelter. The second to Castalian Springs, which is a Woodland era site, dating roughly around 1200 A.D. Some of the cool things I've found include a 5000 year old fire pit and a negatively painted female human effigy bottle.

I've been reading and writing my whole life. I first started out with fanfiction, like most young writers, but branched out in my teens years to writing inspirational and historical fiction, as well as a few fantasies thrown in there. I'm currently working on an Amish fiction novel (well, three to be exact). Maybe one day they'll be finished, haha!

Like Cassie, I have a particular love for Young Adult novels, though I love other types of novels, too. (Mysteries and Inspiriational, typically.) Some of my favorite YA authors are: Lauren Oliver, Cynthia Hand, MaryJanice Davidson, Veronica Rossi, Rick Riordan and Marissa Meyer!

Hi, I'm Lauren and I'm 22 years old. I just graduated with a bachelors in physics, and I will start graduate school next year in medical physics. This is a little-known profession that involves making cancer treatment plans and monitoring the output of the treatment machines. So (hopefully) after four more years I'll be working alongside the nurses, techs, and oncologists at a radiation oncology clinic somewhere.

I love reading, but unfortunately I have little time during semesters. That's why I love summer break! I have so many books to read. Some of my favorite YA series are Harry Potter, Jennifer Scales, the Chrestomanci Series, Warrior Cats, Redwall, the Elemental Series, Eragon, Artemis Fowl, Narnia, and Percy Jackson.

I have recently gotten into the YA distopian genre, and I have so many of them lined up to read.

I also LOVE fantasy novels (no, I haven't ever played DND, but I have watched a few games, and it was amusing). A couple of my favorite more adultish series are Harry Dresden and the Kingkiller Chronicles.

I am excited to help mod this group, and I hope everyone here gains something from YAholics Anonymous! Even if what you gain is a more serious addiction :D

I'm a college student, have been attending college for four years now but between work and not having decided on a major yet, I've just been taking a couple classes every semester working towards my degree in general education for now and then transferring somewhere.

I love cooking and reading, they're two of my biggest passions. Cooking just makes me ridiculously happy and I've been an avid reader since I was about seven or eight. My dad read Lord of the Rings to me when I was seven and ever since then I was hooked!

I love fantasy, scifi, dystopian, and contemporary novels. But I almost always like getting recommendations from any genre so that I can branch out.

I've played the flute for eleven years. I want to teach myself the piano. I'm obsessed with Disney and I have a Disneyland pass.

Hey everyone! I'm Riya and I'm 15 years old. I currently am a sophomore in high school.

Sadly, this means that I'm pretty much always working for either school or other extra-curriculars. In my rare free time I love to read (of course!), watch movies, and watch TV. I love so many movies I can't even decide my favorites, but I love superhero movies, Disney movies, Star Wars, Argo, and pretty much everything else! For TV shows I mainly watch Suits, Castle, Friends, Merlin, Sherlock, Once Upon A Time, Revenge, House of Cards, Graceland, and How I Met Your Mother.

Now, books. I have always loved reading, and since I got active on Goodreads (around a year ago) I've joined and participated in many groups like this AWESOME one! I love discussing books with just about anyone, and my favorite books would include: The Book Thief, The Kite Runner, the Legend series, Graceling, The Night Circus, Speaker for the Dead, Jasper Jones, and I Am The Messenger.

I mainly read fantasy and sci-fi books, but I do like reading a little bit of everything! I'm always up for recommendations and whatnot.

Oh and I also love traveling! I mean it's seeing new places + meeting new people + learning about new cultures + eating AWESOME food- what's not to love? And it's so awesome being able to say that I brought whichever book to whichever foreign country I read it in during a vacation!!!
