Catherine | 1 comments Hi! So glad to join you on here :)
I would like to recommend "Far From the Tree" by Andrew Solomon. It's sitting on my nightstand and I need some inspiration to read it.

Taina I'd like a deadline too. Read so much on it that I might actually be further from starting to read than I was when I actually bought the book. Still, I understand it's a TOME, so maybe once we're a few books in as not to drive away everyone (I don't know if this is an issue to anyone else, this used to be a major discussion in all of the [wine-fueled] book clubs I was in)?

Nancy Huggett | 1 comments Ya, its sitting in my living room ... I don't think it would be the most inclusive first pick for a book club! But I really like ... opps. Can't find the list now...

I'd love to read Far From the Tree with you all but I agree, maybe later because that thing is HUGE!

Do you all want to vote?

Catie | 1 comments I really enjoyed Far From the Tree and was surprised how quickly I read it. I just downloaded Good Kings Bad Kings by Susan Nussbaum after a recommendation and solid online reviews. It is fiction and looks to tear my heart up a good bit, but am looking forward to reading it--it takes place in an institution for young adults with disabilities, told in their voices. The author's own story seems interesting as well and it won the PEN/bell weather Prize for socially engaged fiction. Off to go peruse your titles and vote!
