Haunted was the first James Herbert book I ever read - I had bought it from a charity shop for 20p when I was 14 but didnt sit down and read it till I was 16. That was the start of my love for Herberts books and now, 13 years later I have all his books apart from The City.
Haunted is a killer ghost story, in my opinion its 1 of the 2 I consider 2b nearly perfect when thinking in terms of this ancient story told & re-told by nearly every writer of this genre. I'm a huge fan of this type of story & love a great ghost tale but Herbert's Haunted & Peter Straubs Ghost Story are @ the very top & hav yet 2 hav any1 come close 2 their achievement n this category, again this is only my humble opinion but these tales kick a**....
