Don't forget that you can use widgets to link back to Goodreads! You can display any of your shelves, status updates, etc. with widgets.

My blog shows what I'm currently reading and my reading challenge progress for this year. I would love to have a widget to show off my various group memberships, but I don't like how it's currently displayed. A badge showing the group logo/name would be perfect, but Goodreads insists that a shelf must be featured.

yea, I've no idea how to add a follow on button sorry :S

No problem Megan, I'm only learning too, it's a handy feature to have though.

In your blog, click on design
Then Layout
Then Add a Gadget
Look on the left, you will see basics and under these More Gadgets - this is the one you need
Scroll down till you see Followers and then select this by clicking on the + button
And you're done :)

You know it took me forever to figure that out for myself. . .and I swear I change the way my blog looks every time I visit. I guess I'm just getting a little bolder with the things I play around with now.

I'm thinking of starting a blog, and am a real klutz about such things. I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions as to the first steps to get started. I don't need anything very elaborate, but would like to for people to be able to comment on—or debate—my stuff.

Blogger.com is a great host for blogs. You can let people comment on your posts or turn it off. Check out the member section of this group for a simple how to guide on blogs.
