Leon was the second oldest in a family with one older brother and one younger brother. His mother is crippled so his father stays home to take care of her. His older brother works over time to provide for the family as best as he can, and his youngest brother is still in grade school. Leon has felt lost in the middle of this all, and he’s been desperate to find a way to help his family. At age ten, he became a scavenger and a thief. The only reason that he wasn’t caught was because he disguised himself using black paint and black hair dye to hide his hair color. That was then, now he makes annually “liberations” to the other districts to salvage supplies for his family and the people of his district. He’s had several encounters with the Peacekeepers, so they will more than likely recognize him when he gets chosen for the games. Somehow he knows that they won’t mourn over his death like his family will.
