Mint clung to Hektor's waist, blushing.

As Hektor's horse slowed to a halt he let go of it's mane and slid off, thanking the large animal. He knelt and let his hands run through the cool stream. Turning back to Mint he shook his head, ashamed.
"We're none of us any good are we?"

Mint shook her head kneeling by him. "I think you are doing just fine."

Hektor smiled. Leave it to Mint to compliment him at a time like this.
"I'm glad you came with me," he chuckled. "Even though you know what they're going to say."

She glances at him, "what are they going to say? Did we do something wrong?"

Hektor laughed at her.Does she really have no clue? he said to his horse, who was now happily munching on the stream reeds.
He folded his arms, a broad smile consuming his face. "Come on, Mint.An of-age prince takes his young female servant out into the woods when he usually goes alone? Even you're not that ignorant." he teased.

Mint turned tomatoe red. "I...but...we...how?...." she stammered wringing her hands, and hoping that he didn't know her feelings about him.

"Never mind it." he said, turning bak to the moonlit water running over the rocks. Again, he found himself lost for words. He looked to his horse who snorted and shook his neck. Gee, thanks.

Mint whispered, "I am sorry.. I should just go if I am making this much trouble."

Hektor turned and caught Mint by her arm. "No, no! Please, I wouldn't have invited you if I didn't want you to come." He paused and let her go. "Stay, please."

She gives a timid smile. ."ok. As you wish master"

At this, Hektor laughed. "Really? How many times have I asked you not to call me that? Hektor. My name is Hektor and yours is Mint, my lady."

Hektor plunked down in the thick grass next to the brook. He motioned with his head for Mint to sit next to him. He reflected back on all times he'd done this, thinking about what he'd say to her if she'd been there. And now here she was yet he couldn't find any words.

She sees he is clearly uncomfortable, so she says, "What is bothering you?"

Terrain sat in the branches of a tree, string of her bow pulled back ready to shoot a deer. She kept her eyes open as she let the arrow fly.
