Emma Stephans walked through the electronic doors into the commons, her gear was in a duffel slung over one shoulder and her luggage was rolling along just behind her. She stopped expecting to see the usual type of people milling about, the sleek lethal looking martial arts junkies and their worried and overworked trainers. Instead she saw and empty lobby, there were several posh leather couched gathered around in one corner a large flat screen mounted on the wall in easy view though it wasn't the central icon. There was also what appeared to be a breakfast bar much like ones in hotels, with a juice dispenser and empty racks and glass cabinets that would hold several foods when a person came down groggy in the morning. Going along with the hotel theme there were wooden tables with carefully matched chairs along the walls with napkin holders paled identically on each table. Another thing was, she was utterly alone being the only one in the room.

Katherine checked her phone. This was the right address wasn't it? She was wearing a brown leather jacket over a black tank, matched with skinny jeans and her favorite pair of black boots. She looked around, only seeing two other people occupying the room. Something tugged at the back of her mind. Something was...weird here. She couldn't describe it to herself. She rolled in her suitcase through the doors, only having one.
Roxi had walked the last three miles from the garage since her bike had broken down, walking to put it in her words sucked ass. Her feet which were clad in a pair of grubby vans were aching, the sun had burnt the back of her neck and the large bag she'd had slung over shoulder was rubbing her shoulders raw. She reached the outside of this so-called all-nighter , didn't bloody well look like one though. The high gates and nice architecture didn't exactly fit the bill of what she'd been told was supposed to be the night of the century. Roxi shrugged, regretting the movement as her shoulders continued to smart. With a sigh she removed the stub of the cigarette from between her lips and tossed it on the pavement. Walking up to the door dressed plainly in skinny jeans and a grey shirt she looked like a seventeen year old scrounger not the twenty year old woman she was. Screw living on a diet of fast food and cigarettes she thought bitterly, pushing open the door to the place and walking inside. The sight that met her wasn't exactly what she had been expecting and Roxi was sure it showed on her face, her brown eyes searching and her elegantly arched eyebrows disappearing beneath her bangs. Well hello little lap of luxury, she thought with a smirk part of her niggling to swipe a few of the expensive items that littered the place while she was here. It evidently wasn't the party that was for sure. She walked a little further into the place and running an anxious hand through her hair as she did so and as she walked through the foyer she found herself in an expansive room complete with three other. "I definitely have the wrong place." She muttered looking from the dark haired girl by the door, the pretty girl looking about the room, one young guy and the youngster who had the whole lost puppy thing going on. "Definitely the wrong place." Roxi muttered again, grateful that she had practically her whole life in her bag on her back, if this was the wrong place she could just as easily leave and shack up elsewhere with clean clothes, a washbag and her weapons.
Roxi had been picking absently at her nails, considering what ought to be her next move as far as leaving and heading back to the streets would be. That was when she'd heard the male voice and she'd looked up, her brown eyes flickering over the face of the younger guy she'd clocked before. "Archery?" She scoffed, her eyebrows raised once again. "Do I look like I've got a bow in here kid?" Roxi gestured to the bag on her shoulder, "Now where the hell is this all-nighter?" She asked, looking across the room, it definitely didn't look like the right place.
Roxi spun around to face the other guy, not really hearing what he had said. "The what now?" She asked with a mile frown on her face, what the hell was going on here? Why did they all seem to be here for different reasons, was this a set up? Had the police finally caught up to her and what the gang had been doing? Roxi chewed her lip and placed her hands on her hips, looking at the other people in the room what was going on here?
Roxi shrugged, her lips set in a tight line. "Uh....I have no idea what you're talking about.." She muttered, adjusting her bag over her shoulder she pulled her phone from her pocket. "And I got this text?" Roxi held the phone out where a message was displayed detailing a warehouse party where the rest of the people she hung with were going to be attending. "What do you suppose is happening here?"
Roxi raised an eyebrow, "I dunno, but I'm certainly not here for the United States Association for whatever it was, I was supposed to meeting some mates." She muttered, checking the time on her phone and shrugging, "Seems we've been had. I wonder what the rest of them are here for?" Roxi wondered out loud.
Katherine finally got off her phone with a close friend, letting her know she had arrived safely. Tuning into the conversation she saw more people had entered the lobby area. She rolled her suitcase to her side, leaning on the wall. "I'm here for a writing academy. This was were I was suppose to receive information."
"Doesn't exactly look like a place where local gangs go to hang out and get off their faces though does it?" Roxi replied, throwing a glance over her shoulder at the youngest of the group. "I mean think about it, seriously for a minute I mean what? I'm here for a party, you're here with your little Hawkeye gig, this guy's doing some technological codswallop....need I say more?" She shrugged, "You ever been in trouble with the feds kid, hell maybe they're gonna arrest the lot of us?" Roxi looked at the rest of the group, then again that didn't seem to likely. "It's got to be something else, maybe one of those reality tv series?" That last one almost seemed plausible.
((Anyone want to give me a update?))
"Dad, I'll be fine," Gwen said, standing in front of the glass doors to the large convention center. Her father was worrying as usual. Worrying that his highly trained little girl wouldn't be able to protect or take care of herself while she was away. "Padre, seriously. All will be well." She hugged him and turned towards the building, not allowing him to interject. She walked inside, putting her pink heart sunglasses on top of her head so that they pulled some of her curly, red hair out of her eyes. "Now what?" she asked no one in particular, looking at all the other teenagers that lounged about, chatting, none of them appearing to be too happy. Were they all here for the gun expo? It didn't seem likely.
Katherine looked at Roxi. "My professor hates pranks, he wouldn't send me to be on one. If he really did, I'm going to be super pissed." She looked at Gwen impassively. "What are you here for?" One more random thing and Katherine was going to blow.
Emma stood awkwardly to the side while others came I. And mingled, it wasn't that she was shy sh enlist wanted to get to know the competition. After about an hour or so of eavesdropping she came to a solid conclusion, this was not the MMA invitationals. As far as she could tel not many of these people had much in common.
Gwen glanced at the girl who had first spoken to her, and then the boy. He was the only one in the room who seemed her age, so she held his gaze as she spoke. "I'm Gwen. Gun show thing. You?"
Katherine raised her eyebrows at Leo. He probably was a few years younger then her. "Thanks," she said sarcastically. "I just don't get why they would put all these people conventions in one place."
Gwen laughed, rolling her eyes. "Yeah, I get that a lot." She frowned, looking around. "This doesn't seem very organized... is there someone we can talk to? Sort things out?"
Katherine looked around. "Tell me when you spot someone, but otherwise, I think we are alone here." Katherine peeked her head into the hallways but they were empty as well from what she could see.
Katherine looked at him the minute he entered the room, stilling, her eyes going cold and suspicious. Her hand in her jacket clutched her phone just in case, a chill running down her back.
Emme looked around for a receptionist, it had been a long flight and she wanted to get to her room ASAP.
((Hey Mads, are you up for the Mist?))Katherine waited for the man to say something. Why was she really here? What was this place? The questions were endless.
Roxi had been ready to spout out again with more conspiracies and ideas as to what was happening was struck silent-for once- as a man with remarkable presence entered the room. Her dark eyes narrowed ever do slightly and Roxi stood on her toes looking over the heads of the other group members towards the new arrival.
Emma looked up at the man, hopeful that he was going to tell them all the room and board situation. It was becoming quite apparent that she had been lied to or there had been some mix up and Emma couldn't afford to miss the MMA invites.
Gwen's eyes flickered up to the man who had just entered, noticing the air of power about him. This was all very somber for a gun expo and all that. "Who's that?" she whispered to Leo.
Gwen peered around the room, checking to see if anyone else was showing signs of the skepticism she was feeling. Most people seemed a little unsure, but followed the mans instructions none the less. She muttered sarcastically, "Like lambs to the slaughter."
Katherine passed both of them on the way, whispering in their ears. "For some reason, he looks like an evil doctor." She raised her eyebrows and entered the auditorium.
Emma waited while a few of the others walked out before following, trailing slightly behind.
