It is not atheism. It even talks about everyone's beliefs; whether it is God or Buddha etc. It generally speaks about how positive thinking affects your life in a good way.
It is about a firm belief in a set of principles so I'd call it religious somehow.... It's outcome is positivism, so it reflects the beliefs of most conventional religions. Hence I wouldn't necessarily call it atheism.... May be agnostic?
I also had to stop reading it. I can usually force myself to finish a book whether I want to or not. Not this one! I chose to read "The Power of Positive Thinking" (Peale) instead. For who I am and what I believe in, this was a much better choice for me.
No, In the book it states that the law of attraction and The Secret follow all the rules of every religion, its like when you pray to God you are either asking him for something ( Using Step 1 : Ask ) or you are using the tool of gratitude, both traits of the secret :D. It goes along with religions and you'll see that once you finish it :) x
This book is not atheism. My understanding of atheism is that atheists do not believe there is a greater Power or Force that exists. The Secret clearly talks about something greater than our human selves that brings to us what we continually focus on with feeling. The Law of Attraction acknowledges the greater Powers of the Universe and directly connects us to it.
It's about positive thinking. You need to believe, ask guidance, have faith and trust the supreme being... whoever your God is... (Christian, Muslim, etc.)... then think, feel and act that it'll happen.
Of course NOT!!!
In my faith, I've been teached to BELIEVE.
i'm sure, every religion always teaches people to believe, that we can do it, we can have it, and we can reach it.

No, the book talks about the Law Of Attraction which is the most powerful law in the universe. where is the atheism ? it's actually a prove of the existence of God and its limitless powers..
It is not atheism, It is more than just positive thinking. Positive thinking alone is really not enough. To create or attract. I have had personal experiences in my life that only happened because I believed that it already happened and was not just in the near future, I know that there are a lot of non believers and that is okay. We all have free will and it is up to you if you choose to use it or not. I can tell you I will and no it wont always work. But the reason that would transpire would be because of my lack of faith or belief. This is truly a personal experience.
I don't think so ,,,,, if you searched in many religions you will find that God has Told us so ....
She just put the phrases in a Book .... as not so many people nowdays read Holy Books !
She found a ways in getting people's attention through this book and i don't think we can call it an "Atheist" for that....
She just wanted to deliver the message of "Believe" ..
Nothing more and nothing less

Q: Is it atheism?
A: No, it's Bullshit-ism.
A: No, it's Bullshit-ism.
Is not our differing beliefs, religions, nationalities, skin color, sex, and sexual orientation a root cause of conflict? Who we are our superficial and individualistic differences should not matter; instead it is what we all are, HUMANS that should matter.
tis not atheism..in fact law of attraction and law of supply are the laws of universe which are part of god .
what is galaxy ? what are stars? what is universe? who created them? obviously one have created them, we call it either god, superpower whatever.
someone is there to look for your desires, your thoughts and transform
them into reality and giving you proof that he exists.

The law of attraction is real, but I don't believe that it is the "universe" per se that grants our wishes. The book seems to deify the universe, don't you think? There is far more to the law of attraction. What makes it work? The mystery in our creation. The mystery of water. I tried to explain it better in my blog post if you want to check it out: https://www.goodreads.com/author_blog...
The "Law of Attraction" and the "New Age Movement" can be very closely assocaited with Hinduism and even Islam Christianity and Buddhism. There is essentially nothing "New" about it. The law of attraction is a egoic matrial mis-interpretation of what is known as Karma yoga in the hindu tradition and is mentioned in many prior spiritual organizations under different names. If anyone on this feed would like to deepen their spiritual practice I would highly recomend, you study great Swamis' like Ramana Mahrshi, and even Eckhart Tolle.
Actually NO !
It is Not athesisim.
Why NOT you ask ?
You need to get 'Think and Grow rich-21st century edition' and about the commentary about the concept of INFINITE INTELLIGENCE.
That will answer your question.

No, it's not atheism. If you believe in God, you believe God invented the laws of the Universe. One of those laws is gravity. Gravity works for everyone, those who believe in God and those who don't. Most people who believe in God seem to think you get what you want or need in life only if you ask God and believe in God. But I believe it's like gravity. Even those who don't have a religion can still attract what they want and need into their lives. It's a fundamental law. But if you believe in God, the difference is, you believe you know who created this law and why it works.
No it's not atheism! After reading entire book i found the GOD's message. I found enlightenment, inner peace and contentment after reading. These things are all what God told us to achieve, but this book simply showed that how to get these things in a positive way. Thank you God for such a beautiful gift!
nope. it is a new religion. i have seen people follow it as blindly as they follow any religion
I have a very different opinion. Not only do I think that it is not atheism, I think it even validates religious faith. After all, what is prayer. We ask, to God, to make something we wish to happen, happen. And isnt that what the secret professes as well?
The problem with power of positive thinking and the likes is that they focus too much on christianity, and when that emphasis becomes too much, although it does not directly try to do so, it sort of invalidates other religions.
By taking on a concept of collective conscious or a higher power, we eliminate that bias..

There is no religion higher than love, that's what the secret talking about. That just pointless crap. Don't take that seriously. Anyway, love merely a chemical process. Nothing more, nothing less.
It's more idolatry and self-worship since it claims we can get whatever we want just by our powers. It makes it sound like we are gods, thus appeals to the human nature of wanting to be in control of everything.
the book does say thinking positively will be a magnet to positive force from the universe to get what we want eliminating the fact there is GOD that is there for us and provides the best for us.
however every human has the need to worship something and athesim provides an answer but left unable to explain the metaphsycila work such writer real modellimg GOD and offering people a soultion for what you dont understand thus people jump and purchase the book hoping that it could things and find what they were looking for... My advice know your creator you will know why your here.
However what you can learn from the book is that instead of thinking negatively is stop change your thoughts into positive ones and ACT UPON THEM making it a goal

It is not atheism. Positive thinking become positive energy...
It is not, it is just the way how to concentrate and strengthen our believe no matter how the religion is and focus to your vision, that is how i am think about
I think that it correlates to the concept of spiritualism. By no means, in my opinion, does it promote the absence of a higher power. Rather, it seems to promote that we are all part of the higher power and can control our lives to a certain extent by the energy we put into the higher power.
I am not sure if the author or the teachers of the secret are atheists or not, but I am quite sure that all religions can never approve freeing man's mind from delusions , which the Secret is exactly doing. It is so simple, if you want to believe in your own unlimited power to attract the good to you by emitting positive energy of love and gratitude ...then follow the Secret.. If you want to surrender to your fate and wait for the invisible power to help you while you are not helping yourself, then disregard the secret and keep reading ancient time legends and fairy tail stories " in most of religions" !
Kinda!
actually all the books which can be categorized as self improvement books have a little flavor of atheism.
because at the heart of self improvement lies the idea that we are on our own.
in religion however its different. there's fate. there is God's will! there is ...
if there is mention of religion in these books or DVD's or ... it's just because they don't want to alienate a lot of customers!

I agree with Tammy - it's everyone's "God" - it's the energy that surrounds us. Put good stuff 'out there' and you'll get 'good stuff' in return. That's my take on it - I have the book, the CD, and the DVD!
No its not .It actually says a lot of things that god told us to do like b always positive and such things.Although i don't agree to the fact that we r responsible for every act that happens with us .It is like saying that when a girl gets raped its her fault which is not.
Jesus said in Mark 11:24 that whatever we ask for, and believe as though we have ALREADY received, he will grant it to us.
The Law of Attraction is no more and no less. What is often missed is the law will give what we seek, but it may not be to ones benefit at all. So asking foolishly or selfishly will reap it's own reward.
A key element is gratitude, and a selfish person knows nothing of gratitude. When whatever one desires is as much for others as for themselves, this is the attitude of a giver and one who is likely to see fruit from whatever is received.
This is just the thoughts of one person, who has seen both sides of this in my lifetime.

This is the same ideal taught in my Saami Tribal Spirituality. I actually have drawn correlations to this in my book VIGILANT ANCESTOR.

It is still a spiritual belief as it is Pantheistic in nature. The Judeo-Christian beliefs have many parallels. Pantheism had been popularized today as both a theology and philosophy based on 17th century philosopher Baruch Spinoza. Same as in my people's beliefs [Saami tribal custom] we believe the theory that the body, mind and spirit are not separate. Christian theory of the holy trinity (although not biblical in origin) maintains body, mind & spirit are one, however, hints that they are not. They also state that YOU cannot have a direct relationship with GOD without going through a middleman [Jesus]. We Saamis believe we all are part of the same ONE SPIRIT. The SECRET picks up on the thinking process of the law of attraction and offers it up as a lifestyle choice. For this we applaude the effort. Try it! Give it half a chance and it will work for you, too.

It's about positive thinking. Positive thinking has nothing to do with religious beliefs. This books isn't for everyone. Some people believe in positive thinking, some people are constantly negative and some people are somewhere in between. I for one took great positivity from this book and if I am feeling particularly negative about anything I always have a read of it and it takes a huge weight from my shoulders. It took me two rereads of this to really get that message from it so I would suggest giving it another go and try and have an open mind. It's not preaching anything it is just saying to be positive.
It is all about law of attraction! And all this is the game of energies!
