TID is better, I don't like Clary whatsoever, that may sound harsh, but she just stands there! And Jace, Alex, Simon, etc get their asses caned cause she won't help, also, is it bad to say I'm crushing on Sebastian and writing a fiction about him? But anyway, as I was saying, the characters were better planned out this way, so contrasting! And Magnus is there, so I'm happy, my little gay sparkly sonic hedgehog :)

tjat is a hard choise but I woud have to go with TMI

TID is the best series ever XD I fell In Love sooo Deep with the Characters in TID more than TMI XD
And the story in TID more make sense I think :P

The thing is in my opinion the Infernal devices was written better and the characters were more devilled but I wish things moved a big more faster like in TMI and in TMI even though its ISNt written as good it's just grabs your attention but I'm gonna have to go for TID because it would be crimanal injustice not to pick will herondale

I LOVE THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS SERIES AND THE INFERNAL DEVICES SERIES..... But if I had to pick one it would be TMI. I actually hated Tessa because she couldn't choose one of the two guys. I felt so bad for Will when she said she was marrying Jem. In TMI Jace and Clary are the perfect couple and there are no MAJOR MAJOR competition for Jace. Except Simon and maybe Sebastian. Anyway, TMI all the way!!

I totally agree with Lauren.
I hate that all that is in TID mainly is Tessa's confused feelings for Jem and Will. C'mon how can you love and be with two guys at the same time. Only thing I liked about it was the ancestral history of the characters of TMI and specially how Jace and Will are related.

The Mortal Instrument - mostly cause of Jace cause I <3 Jace but he needs to stop getting himself kidnapped and possessed in the name of the Angel

Infernal Devices though I do like Mortal instruments. I feel Cassie has a better idea of what shes doing whereas TMI shes creating the world and its a mish mash sometimes. Character development is also better. I like Tessa better than Clary who I find to whinge a lot. I also like will better than Jace but I'm forever team jem.

TID. it has Jem.tessa is strong character who will fight in a battle even wearing wedding dress while clary will be worried about jace and not do anything.no character in TMI is a match for JEM!......... except Izzy.

I guess I disagree with most here....but I hated TMI:| I thought it was boring, kiddish and had a little bit of everything...which made it all messed up. I still haven't read TID and I'm hoping it will be better!

I completely agree that TID is better overall.

I surprisingly loved TID more the TMI because I guess I loved the characters more. Truthfully I am in-love with Jem and Will:3 and though I do love Jace, I guess I didn't really get to know him like I got to know Jem and Will. Also TMI was kind-of confusing like Are they siblings? Is Simon dead? Does Isabelle love Simon or is she just using him? Why is Magnus such a drama queen when it comes to Alec talking to Camille? Etc. The relationship statuses are always going single,dating,single,dating and so on. But in TID the only relationship that I really cared about was either Wessa or Jessa? It was literally the hardest choice I have had to make(you know your a book-nerd when the hardest thing is finding which characters you want to ship). So that-I think is why I prefer TID over TMI:)

No contest, TID. I read TMI first and loved it, but TID is my favorite.

I liked TMI better because that's the series that got me into reading. I also really love TID, but TMI has just brought me the best memories of reading it.
Also, I think that TMI has a scarier and a slightly better villain. And MALEC :)
Though the Love-Triangle in TID is the best I've ever read.

Yeah, CP was a REALLY good book. Although I must say, despite the fact that I was a huge fan of books 4 and 5 in TMI, I am LOVING the last book, City of Heavenly Fire. It's pretty epic!

Definitely like The Infernal Devices A LOOOOT more than The Mortal Instruments. TMI was still good but doesn't even compare to TID.

I finally finished City of Heavenly Fire, which was a pretty awesome ending to TMI. Clare knows how to end her series!
