Jessica As a lot of you know, I'm working on this damn 1001 list. There's actually a pretty big group on goodreads here for it. Anyway, I couldn't figure out what to read next, so I've got a poll going on MR to help me with the next one. But I'm thinking what I'll do is I'll read 5 of these a month, starting with the one with the most votes then go down. Here's the poll:

Does anyone want to join me in this? Or do something similar? I could use the company :p

Ralph (rlparker) Hi Jessica,

I voted for "The Three Musketeers" in the MR poll.

Just checked over there and see that "1984" has passed "Dirk Gently" for most votes--kinda surprises me for some reason....

Adam (adamruger) | 14 comments I voted for 1984. It is a short read.

I periodically check books off the 1001 book list. I think I'm around 40.

Jessica RL - it's been beating it for a while. I'm surprised too.

Adam (adamruger) | 14 comments Some of those I have read. May try to do a few others on the list very soon.

message 11: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Let us know if you do :)

Adam (adamruger) | 14 comments I will have to tag the 1001 books in my library so I can keep track of them.

Thanks for the tally. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the books on this list!

Adam (adamruger) | 14 comments I've been diving once. Would like to try it again.

message 16: by Jessica (new)

Jessica I've already finished 1984, now onto Dirk Gently! Gotta go to the library tomorrow to pick it up.

message 17: by Hazel (new)

Hazel (tattncat) | 18 comments I'll join you on the ones I can get in eBook formats. Some of these I have already read so I'll tick those off.

message 18: by Jessica (new)

Jessica I think only four I couldn't get in ebook - Dirk Gently, Things Fall Apart, Rebecca, and the Secret History

message 19: by Rwood (new)

Rwood | 16 comments You now have a truly great book for the final read. Silas Marner by George Eliot is one of my favorite books. I posted the Sony LRF (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/show...) and Mobipocket PRC (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/show...) versions in September 2007 and the eBookwise IMP version in October 2007 (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/show...)

message 20: by Jessica (new)

Jessica Then how come you didn't vote for it? :p Thanks for uploading it!

message 21: by Rwood (new)

Rwood | 16 comments I missed the whole poll. There has been this thing I do called "work" When you are self-employed you take it when it is available.

As pointed out earlier, there are no bad choices in the lot. All that would change is the sequence, not a decision to read|not read.
