Hi Jessica,I voted for "The Three Musketeers" in the MR poll.
Just checked over there and see that "1984" has passed "Dirk Gently" for most votes--kinda surprises me for some reason....
I voted for 1984. It is a short read.I periodically check books off the 1001 book list. I think I'm around 40.
RL - it's been beating it for a while. I'm surprised too. grooks, you're kicking my butt :) I'm only at 29...

Thanks for the tally. I don't think you could go wrong with any of the books on this list!
I'll join you on the ones I can get in eBook formats. Some of these I have already read so I'll tick those off.
I think only four I couldn't get in ebook - Dirk Gently, Things Fall Apart, Rebecca, and the Secret History
You now have a truly great book for the final read. Silas Marner by George Eliot is one of my favorite books. I posted the Sony LRF (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/show...) and Mobipocket PRC (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/show...) versions in September 2007 and the eBookwise IMP version in October 2007 (http://www.mobileread.com/forums/show...)
