Madeline walked into the Gazebo. It was in the GArden, But surrounded by flowers, so no one could really see her. She sat down, and closed her eyes, refecting over her 'princess time'.
Willa walked into the gazebo, not really knowing what to do with herself. She couldn't see anyone in there, so she walked on in. She turned and saw Madeline, and made a strange noise that kind of sounded like a yelp of fright.
"oh sorry!" said Madeline. "i did not mean to give you a fright" she add, as she stood up.
"No no no no no no no, don't be sorry! I'll just....have a seat. Over here." She said, sitting on the opposite side of the gazebo. She didn't really know why she was nervous around Madeline.
"we met at the beach right?" asked Madeline. "willa if i recall correctly" she said.
"Yes, I'm Willa, and by what I can recall, the last time we met you were Monique." She raised an eyebrow, "But I think that may have changed." She smiled.
Madeline smiled. "yeah well, there isn't really a point in hiding anymore is there" she said. She may have been the French kings daughter, but she still had a British accent. Considering that she lived in England most of her life it was normal, although her Father was not very pleased. "Now i prefer to go by my real name Madeline" she added.
"Madeline." Willa tried out, "Well, it's great to see you at the palace." Of course, the last time Willa had seen her she had been unconcious, limp and being frantically carried by Eli to the Med Cabin at the beach. She had changed dramatically since she'd last seen her.
Madeline smiled. "thanks" she said. "it's good to finally have somewhere where i belong" she said. She had no idea that Willa had seen her unconcious, and practically knocking on the doors of death. Either way, that was the past now. "So are you ready for the ball?" she asked, hoping to change the subject.
"I guess so. My maids are keeping my dress top secret...I don't know whether to be nervous or not!" Willa chuckled slightly, "All I know is that I'm all stitched up for the ball. I can just imagine how many awkward left-handed handshakes there's going to be." She held up her right hand that was in the cast.
"what happened?" asked Madeline.
"Oh, there was an... accident at the beach. It wasn't too serious then but it broke during the attack."
"Yeah i remember what happened at the beach but, wow. The attack was seriously brutal. I was still here during it so i know." She said. Madeline still could not believe that Aria had betrayed everyone.
"It was terrifying. I'm super claustrophobic, so when there were so many people in that little basement it was terrible!" She laughed at the thought now, but when it was happening she was considering going home. She decided to stay at the palace because she was determined to try her best at the chance to have Aaron and become Queen.
((you mean Aaron. LOL Maxon's taken))
"Not much fun. I ended up being tracked an ambushed for like the 100th time in my life. Thankfully I knew the raider, so it was simple to get out" she said. She still could not believe that Aria of all people, would do that.

(LOL yes, I've just been re-reading the book xD)Willa thought about what it would be like to go through that kind of thing numerous times,
"That would be awful."
((haha! i was reading too, but the sequal to 'under the never sky'))
"it was at first, but after a while, it became easy to aviod such situations" she said. It was true. After about being corners 50 times, Madeline had figured out when to run, and when she could hang out for a bit longer. "Thankfully there is no need for that anymore" she said.

"Yes, thankfully." Willa said, and decided to lighten the subject, "So are you looking forward to the ball?"
"oh no" she said right away. "My father has made me go with my feance, and he is just horrid. Be glad you're no royal, because arranged marrages suck" she said. Sir Andrew was just, just......Madeline did not even have words to describe him.
"Fiance?" Willa had not been aware that Madeline was engaged, "Even if you don't like him at the moment, I'm sure your father chose him for a reason. Everyone has at least one thing in common with each other, you and Sir Andrew just haven't found yours yet."
"there is nothing similar about us. He like being fawned over by girls, and i hate being followed around by even my brother. He get drunk like all the time, and i don't even drink at all. He is a complete.......Oh i don't even know how to explain hime. He drives me crazy 24/7" Said Madeline. "Plus, he is not very happy with the engagment either" she added.
"There! That's it!" Willa said, jumping up, "You're both unhappy with your engagement. Talk about that with each other. Tell each other why. If you can both know why the other is unhappy, you could get to know each other a bit better." Willa sighed, "Well, either that or tell him that ifhe doesnt get his act together or he's gonna be unhappy for the rest of his life."
"oh he not the only one who is gonna be unhappy." she said. "and we have talked, and gone on like a billion dates, and nada. zilch. nothing. We are completly not ment for each other." she added. "You know sometimes i wish that not every French Royal had to get married. It's horrid. And im the youngest in the family which mean i have the least choice. Makes me feel like a bloody object rather than a person" she said. You could hear the annoyance and distress in her voice.
"That does sound awful..." Willa said, her mind somwhere else, "If you would excuse me Madeline, I should be going. It's been a lovely chat." Willa curtsied slightly then she was heading back into the palace.
Madeline smiled and watched her leave. "au revoir" she said before she left. Now that she was alone, MAdeline got up, and decided that she was going to dance. To her own pretend music she did the waltz, and many other types of Dances.
After an hour Madeline was getting tired. She headed back to the palace.
Theo decided on the gazebo. It was secluded and romantic. He had only been in it a couple times, but he always got the impression that you were entering another world. Another world was exactly what they needed.
Theo stared at his hands through the filter of his mask. He couldn't quite look at Jamie, "Are you okay?"
((I'm not sure, this was made up on the fly...I actually wouldn't mind some hostility towards Hayden. It'd be nice if she liked Theo because he was nice to her and she realized Hayden was a jerk. Going back to bantering with each other wouldn't be bad, but you can decide. I'll just go with the flow)
He wanted to say she'd have him, but that would be a lie. Theo could never have Jamie. "Who says need someone? I think before you can open your heart to others, you have to love yourself first. Were you planning on falling for Eli or Hayden?"
((Sorry, this is so long, but I’m bored right now and honestly a lot has happened to Jamie))What Jamie said made Theo look away from her. He drummed his fingers against his knee trying to think. It wasn't like he was fantastic at making friends. His family was so big he never had to worry about that. At work ((not the palace, back home b/c "Theo" doesn't technically work at the palace)) Theo was really only close to two, maybe three, people. He thought about Jamie's time at the palace and a sigh escaped his lips when he realized what he and Eli had done to her. Still not looking at her, he began talking.
“I’ve uh, heard about you Jamie. You were one of the selected chosen to be Prince Aaron’s potential wife. On your first day here, a guard took you for a stroll around the gardens, and that’s when you met Officer Ryker. Apparently, the two of you got along very well. The staff felt bad because they knew it would only be a matter of time before you fell for him. Ryker is very charming. You went on a date with Prince Aaron I think, but you probably couldn’t get Ryker out of your mind. Prince Aaron is shy and does not make friends as easily as your guard friend…”
“Somehow, after some injuries and a tendency to faint, you got stuck being babysat by another guard, Officer Todd. A bastard…from uh, what I hear. Yet, somehow you got someone who hates everyone and everything, to like you. You seem very capable of making friends Jamie. Therefore, I wonder if the reason you feel so alone is because of these two boys that stole your chances of being Queen. Before you answer, I want you to think, have you really been trying to make friends? Did you sit in the women’s room or try to make conversation at meals? Your entire time at the palace has been spent with Ryker and Todd. Has there been one day when you didn’t see at least one of them? Legally speaking, you’re of higher status than more than half the girls here. King Maxon did not interfere with the lottery, so there are more girls below the status of four than there ever has been. You’re a three. The only thing keeping you from making friends with the other girls is you, and I guess until now those two guards.”
Theo was finally able to look back at Jamie, but he felt so hollow inside he hoped she couldn’t see it. He never should have pushed her away from Aaron. There was never a real chance for them to be together, so he should have left her alone while he still could. “We…we don’t really know each other, so I have no right to tell you what to do, but I would suggest you forget both the guards. Or at least stop wanting them as boyfriends. I wish you had sooner because then you might have had a chance to be Queen. Right now, just focus on your job and go talk to the other girls. They’re probably just as lonely as you are…I was dancing with Lady Marigold and she seemed like a very friendly person. Maybe you could confide in her. As for love, it’ll happen when it’s supposed to. Don’t go looking for it though, if it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be.”
In his time with Jamie, he had given her many smiles. Some were sarcastic because she had said something ridiculous. Others were dark because she thought she loved someone who wasn't real. So it didn't surprise Theo that when Jamie finally asked if he was real, that he gave her the saddest smile he ever had in their relationship. He could actually taste the bitterness on his tongue from wondering the answer. "I'm not sure if we can be friends... but maybe I can try. "
"Hey, when did I say that?" He cupped her face gently in his hand, forcing her to look at him, "I just think...I just think it might be difficult for you to be friends with me."
"I'm a... complicated person." He let go of her face and went back to tapping his knee. What could he do?"And I don't really live at the palace...Um, oh maybe we could write each other? Do you know how to write?"
Well at least one of them could write... When he went home he'd have to get Daphne to teach him. "Yeah, I'll give it to you before I leave. I'm staying for the conference. "
"No, I wouldn't call myself a prince. Maybe I'll see you around though." He didn't want to be too concrete.
Theo smiled, relieved to finally be able to answer that question, "Mason. My name is Theodore Mason, but in general I go by Theo."
((No. I'd much rather she hate Hayden, like maybe to the point that he has trouble being nice to her as Theo. He's being nice because he feels bad... but his ego is still big so Jamie disliking him because Theo is the opposite of Hayden would interesting, and probably funny. ))
((I think it'd be amusing. Jamie is really the only one good at insulting Hayden, except maybe Marigold. Jamie making friends with her would be good on multiple accounts because they could tease Hayden, he would hate them b being friends and she could get information on Hayden. All the while she gets to know Theo and decide who she likes more. ))
He took her elbow to steady her. "We can probably ask someone?" Theo wasn't sure where her room was either; did they move it because she is no longer in the selection? He was trying not to smile from the irony of taking Jamie to her room. It was pretty much the same thing that "Hayden" did the first day he met her.
