message 2: by Beth (new)

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) One of our local weathermen loves to use the term "filtered sunshine."

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

overcast

message 4: by Lorena (new)

Lorena (lorenalilian) today - blissfully rainy and grey, perfect for crawling in my reading sofa with hot cocoa, cheese and a great book.

message 5: by Lorena (new)

Lorena (lorenalilian) LOL! I'm a cheese lover ... ;o) I love tea too, well herbal teas mostly, my favorites Manzanilla and Mint, and orange blossom.

Yes, in old houses. I have a cut glass vase with a handle that is heavy as lead. Wintry mix is often used in Phila. weather forecasts - rain, changing to snow to sleeet and often back to snow. I like the Pittsburgh way of describing icy roads as slippy.

message 8: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (sanddune)
A hard rain- raining cats and dogs

Richard, they used laudanum, too. Stay away from that kind of thing. Having the "Vapors" often used as an excuse for not appearing at undesired social gatherings is a better choice. Nothing ingested or inhaled. Ladies seemed to do well with it. Why not men if they choose?

Favorite Irish blessing - May the road rise to meet you, May the sun shine warm upon your face, And the rains fall soft upon your fields And until we meet again , May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Sandra (sanddune) Because it was a new topic and I was pouring out my frustration with long winter while looking for spring.

message 13: by Lorena (new)

Lorena (lorenalilian) Ken, I'll look for Valerian next time I'm at the market. Do you know if they have an organic line to their teas?

message 14: by Beth (new)

Beth Knight (zazaknittycat) Emilee, it is very cold here today in IL. I even heard mention of SNOW. My husband and I are about to move our table and chairs off the patio and back into the garage. I knew we put them out too early. I wish spring could be spring around here.

Sandra (sanddune) splatters?

message 17: by Petra X (new)

Petra X (petra-x) This is the first time I have been in the UK in spring for probably 20 years. I'd forgotten the beauty of daffodills and trees in pink and white blossom and the heady scent of hyacinths. Unfortunately I'm looking at all this in a garden outside of my mother's room in a hospice. Walking through the gardens though I keep thinking these are the skybluecold days, not the beginning but the ending of time.
