I have to have a real book! I love used bookstores where all the books themselves have a story. I love a good independent bookstore too. "A Real Bookstore" in Allen is an awesome bookstore. They sell a lot of collector books. As well as every kind obviously. Plus the staff bends over backward to help! Love love love that store!!

I'm with you Nathan, I loooooooooooove going to my Half Price Book store or Barnes and Nobles. The smell of books is priceless, and I like having them on my bookshelf.
I did however get a Kindle for my birthday, but that's basically for all the "E-book format only" out there that I want to read. :)

Both paperbacks and ebooks sell very well. The ebook market is booming, but many will still want a physical book, and it will be a good few years still before e-readers are in almost every household.
I fought getting an ereader....used the same reasoning for keeping my books around me....I enjoyed the smell of a new paperback, the feel, I liked seeing it on my shelf. I just couldn't see spending (then $250) for a Kindle or Nook.....Why spend more money to read when I can read a paperback (which I bought second hand on Ebay)????I went on vacation and brought 5 different books with me and ended up buying another book to read instead. Took up alot of space in my suitcase. And....Then I got to thinking....the price of epubs a few years ago was cheaper than the paperbacks I read....But what really got me was when I totaled how much in one year I spent on used paperbacks....and realized I no longer had many of these books anymore and those that I did were sitting in Rubber Maid Tubs I had to buy for them in my basement.
I was sold....that was it. I needed an ereader.
What I found, once I got one was that I let go of my books, freed up space for a few books I enjoyed, used those Rubber Maid tubs for more clothes, I could read and increase the font size as my eyes got worse.....And when I went to Alaska couple years ago, I took my entire library with me and was not restricted to the few books I brought with me.
I have privacy...no one knows what I am reading....I can take my ereader with me everywhere....I have light at night so I don't have to have a lamp on. I can store extra books in computer files. It is worth the investment.
I tried reading a paperback yesterday for the first time in three years and it was horrible...I kept dropping it (was laying in bed) I needed light on, had to wear my glasses, the cover was ugly...had to look at it. LOL. That prompted me to pack up my remaining paperbacks and I only kept a few that I have not yet replaced with epubs. Off to Goodwill!
I am free!!!!
Lololol you crack me up girl , those are all great reasons , especially love the "can use rubbermaids for more clothes " hehe ;)
Kat has corrupted me with the ereader. At first I was only getting Kindle-only series. Now she's recommending all these good books I keep flooding my app with, I can't stop! haha I still love my books thoughhhh *cuddles the pages*

I am like Katya. I never thought I'd take to ereading. Despised the mere thought of it. Then hubby bought me my new Kobo...oh, and it's so pretty! When we went on vacation, I didn't have to lug a thousand paperbacks with me. And now my fingers get so much exercise from flipping e-pages. LOL I love it and haven't picked up a physical book since.
