Katherine entered and took a seat next to them, admitting to herself she did now want to be alone. She glanced at Gwen with an amused expression, mouthing the words. "He's not some pyscho right?"
Emma remained standing in the back nearest the door as possible.
Emma looked over at the boy checking his phone, at his worried expression she pulled hers out. Sure enough, nothing, it may as well have been a paperweight.
Roxi looked behind her as several more people began filing in and she moved through the space, dropping into a seat and putting her feet up against the back of the chair in front of her. She picked absently at her nails and eyed the man from before, he was certainly a strange one.
Emma shoved her cell phone back into her pocket and directed her attention to the man at the podium. She wanted to know why she was here and get the mistake fixed so she might make her MMA matches in the morning.
Katherine kept her eyes straight on the man speaking but she was surely aware of the people coming in, filling the seats. Makes it a whole lot harder to bolt.
Gwen was half tempted to raise her hand and just right out ask the man in the white suit what on earth was going on. Of course, even with how confident she usually was, the man was just a little too intimidating.
Emma let her gaze flit around to the others in the room, noticing more people than she had witnessed in the lobby before. She again deducted the fact that none of these people were MMA fighters, as a matter of fact no one seemed remotely connected at all.
Emma narrowed her eyes in suspicion, perusing her lips in thought. Sketchy, very sketchy. Still she stayed quiet to listen.
Katherine stared. She did not sign up for this at all! All she wanted was to complete her second year of college at an academy and here she is, sitting in a compact auditorium with some man dressed in a suit talking about science. She gathered up her purse and was about to rise to leave.
"You have got to be shitting me," Katherine muttered, her eyes seeming to meet some of the guards with a cold icy glare, something she had developed over time.
At the unsuspected sound of the doors shutting Emma immediately shifted into a fighting stance. If anyone came within her range they would go down, armed or not.
Katherine looked at her questioningly, hearing her still for she sat right next to the girl. "What do you mean, not again?"
"Sarcasm," Gwen clarified, "I can't really control it at this point." It was her go to defense mechanism. Unwanted fear was rising within her.
Emma grumbled under her breath and sat back on her heels. Great, I have been demoted to a lab rat.
"I'm already awesome..." Emma muttered quietly.
"A lab rat, that's what he's making us!" She took her things, hating how she was being forced to do this.
"Thank you!" Emma called out to who ever said that,
Gwen grabbed Leos arm. "Uh, does this make any sense to you? Because I just can't seem to find the sense."
Katherine smiled at Emma, raising her hand to say who did it. It was in sour humor, the gesture. Turning her attention back onto Leo. "She's right."
"Oh yes, the world makes sense again. Thank you, lovely Leonard." She rolled her eyes, smirking.
Emma was not okay with this, she stood against the wall unmoving and stewing with emotions.
"This whole damn situation is cryptic," Gwen said, her voice cracking. "This is all a joke, right?"
