Glinda- the good witch of the north and protector of the munchkins, uses bubble travel
Elphaba- the witch of the west who was once good and knew glinda in school but turned evil when her love, fiyero, was killed i think...or maybe he betrayed her...? no,no she still loves him and is "healing him"... and then she turned him into the scarecrow: let his flesh not be torn, let his blood leave no stain, when they beat him let him feel no pain. let his bones never break and however they try to destroy him, let him never die. so, she started good, and now is the most evil creature in oz

oh, i think elphaba loves fiyero, but he picks glinda, and then he gets hurt...

oh, and in the play, nessa is the witch of the east and she likes boq, but in Oz the great and powerful nessa isn't in it, the east witch has a different name...

(view spoiler)[theodora in the movie is the equivalent to elphaba, the wicked witch of the west who was once good. evanora is the wicked witch of the east, the equivalent to nessa. the whole movie you are trying to figure out which one is evil, when really they both are! and sadly, there is no witch of the south :( (hide spoiler)]

Elphaba is not the characters name in the Oz Great and Powerful movie. Elphaba is Author Gregory Maguire's name for The Wicked Witch of the West in his novel The Life and Times of The Wicked Witch of the West and in the play Wicked. The name Elphaba is one that Maguire had come up with from the Oz characters original creator L. Frank Baum. He broke up that author's name to Lfbaum, which is pronounced and spelled Elphaba. Over the years since L. Frank Baum's creation The Wicked Witch of the West has been associated with many different names in movies and books. Theodora is the Wicked Witch of the West in this new movie and she is portrayed by Mila Kunis.

I know, I saw wicked, then saw Theodora, and I was like. "seriously!". also, you just gave away a spoiler, in the movie you don't know Theodora is evil.

No Disney didn't care and it was obvious from the start as the poster of The WWOW showed her wearing Theodora's red ring, black boots, and Theodora's style of a wide brim hat. The movie posters gave the so called secret away from the very beginning. I saw the movie today. It is very entertaining. I love Mila's portrayal of the west witch.

i thought she didn't act Theodora very well but she did a good job with the wicked witch.

also, it was a secret to SOME people cause like half of my class is going to see it today and they don't know yet

I agree. She was very good as The Wicked Witch of the West and that is all that mattered to me, because that is the only character I really wanted to watch.
