Cheryl (Collier) (cheryllynn12) I hope it's as good as touted. My used copy from Amazon is supposed to be delivered today.

Autumn (autumnmemory80) I ordered this book off of Thriftbooks last week, so hopefully it will get here soon! Looking forward to this read!

Cheryl (Collier) (cheryllynn12) I'm looking forward to it too because she's an author I haven't read. Three books to read and review (and I'm loving that) and then I'm settling in for this one.

Matt Thompson | 1 comments All my friends said this book was good...looking forward to reading it.

Sandra | -11 comments As a lover of Jane Austin and P.D. James, I found this book to be a disappointment.

Ethan Has anyone read this yet? I've slowly made my way through the Adam Dalgeish series, but have yet to check this one out.

Linda (beaulieulinda117gmailcom) | 1403 comments l couldn't even read it, it was that boring.

Ethan Yikes! I usually enjoy her novels, but have never read any outside of her series.

Leigh | 6291 comments I loved the cover when I saw it in the library but the reviews were dreadful so I never bothered. I hope some people like it.

VickiLee | 251 comments I am a great fan of P.D. James and have read most of her novels. However Death Comes To Pemberly is not one of them. I always have an emotional reaction to novels that step into the fictional world of another writer and often I do not read them. However I did try this novel -three times - and I just couldn't do it. It simply did not hold my attention

Kathy | 0 comments I really disliked this book. What happened to Elizabeth's strong character? P.D.James' Elizabeth kept running to the housekeeper for advice.

Cheryl (Collier) (cheryllynn12) Ok, I surrender. As an Austen fan I had high hopes for this book.. Now I find that I am completely bored. I seldom give up on a book but this one is going to be donated. Maybe someone else will love it.

Cheryl (Collier) (cheryllynn12) I had read both positive and negative reviews and wanted to see for myself. I have now seen as much as I need to see. I have probably not finished a book I've started five or so times in this long life but this one has to join those others. Maybe I could try again in a year or so.

Taylor These comments are not heartening. I bought the book ages ago but never got around to reading it. I thought it being a choice for our group read would give me incentive, but now it's not looking so good. Yikes!

If you already have the book, try it. All books aren't for all readers. You may really like it.

Luffy Sempai (luffy79) I'm on the fence with this one. Quite a negative feedback. What to do? I still have time to procastinate.

Melissa (mnally) | 11 comments This was not a bad read; however, light on mystery. The ending was a bit surprising but just goes to show you human nature doesn't change. Wish Elizabeth had been a bit stronger or at least more of a presence. A lot of Darcy. It was fun to revisit them.

Yvonne (thedahliascene) I'm having a very hard time reading it. I'm about halfway through, and I've already lost interest for the most part. I will finish it, but it's becoming a trudge.

I agree with you. I have read all of Jane Austin, Pride and Prejudice about 4 or 5 times, and all Adam Dalgleish series, and this book was a dissapointment. It was written as if PD James was frightened to get out of line.

message 20: by Yvonne (new)

Yvonne (thedahliascene) I'll admit that I never finished it. I just kept getting more and more frustrated to the point I gave up.

Skip it Jenni. It is money wasted. I donated it because some person may like it - just not this person.

Dystopian Hated it. DNF.

Taylor I approached this more as fanfiction than mystery and rather enjoyed it. I have read a lot of truly awful Jane Austen fanfiction, so by comparison, Death Comes to Pemberley wasn't too bad.

Taylor I don't know about Twilight, but with Jane Austen it's just fun to keep reading about beloved characters and others takes on them. One of my favourites had Wickham contracting syphilis. Hahaha..

Yvonne (thedahliascene) Jenni wrote: "I don't understand what this fan-fiction thing is about. i have heard that 50 Shades started as Twilight fan fiction. What does that mean? 50 shades seems nowhere near The Twilight Saga."

50 Shades of Grey was indeed a Twilight fanfiction that was only slightly changed in order to make it suitable to be its own book. That being said it was a rather quick and enjoyable read. It wasn't THAT well written, but I took it for what it was at the time. I couldn't even get that far with Death Comes to Pemberley. I just kept complaining until finally EVERYONE was telling me to just start on something I'd enjoy more.
