♥Booknerdswift♥ One of my favorites, is 'The Face on the Milk Carton'. I know it sounds weird, but it's actually really great. Will explain more later.

Nightshade

I love this book. You have to read it.

message 3: by An (new)

An Oh, I was going to say Nightshade too! Cool. :D

message 4: by Summer (new)

Summer (wildskf) Oh goodness, there are too many good books to recommend. Umm... a few lesbian favorites of mine ---

Slow River

Nightwood

Painted Moon

--- I always have tons of books I want to recommend. I read virtually every genre. Totally hit me up for book recommendations.

Do you like Paranormal Romance?"

Yeah, I like them :)

Haven't read a really good one in a long time so I can't make many suggestions in that genre, I'm afraid.

I'll read anything and everything if it'll stay still long enough :P

Those have been so popular here at our library and I understand a movie based on the books will be coming out soon. I keep meaning to read them, but every time my reading list clears up a little they are all checked out!

Okay, so I picked up the first volume of SWEEP, and admittedly, I wasn't sure whether I was going to like it because the first chapter was a girl drooling all over a gorgeous boy (not that I don't like paranormal romance, but the past, like, 10 I've tried to read have started like that and have been, well, awful)

.... but I'm 112 pages into it so far, and I really like it. Thanks for the recommendation :)

Btw, would you like to be called Jack or Jacquelina?"

Both are pseudonyms that I used to write the book. But just plain J will do nicely. Thanks!

Out of My Mind was a fantastic read. I've recommended it to all of my education and therapy major friends, haha.

Still haven't read those Percy Jackson books. Need to; what kind of youth librarian would I be if I haven't? - obviously missing out if the rave reviews I get are true.

Really should look into The Future of Us you suggested in the other thread. I'll pick that one up once I finish my current batch of books :)

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

Ok great!

message 18: by Summer (new)

Summer (wildskf) I have been :) - I just started book 3 in the volume I checked out from the library.

message 19: by Summer (new)

Summer (wildskf) Well, I didn't like the second book as much as the first one. Ugh, Morgan just turned into an angst queen; I mean, she's going through some tough stuff, but still....

The third is really good so far.

message 20: by Summer (new)

Summer (wildskf) Good to hear they stay good all the way to the very end. When I saw the length of the series, I was a little scared the quality wouldn't be as good towards the end of it. Happens way too many times in series, you know.

message 21: by Summer (new)

Summer (wildskf) Haha, I'll take your word for it. I plan to continue reading them :)

message 22: by Summer (new)

Summer (wildskf) To all my spiritual LGBT buddies, THIS should be our relationship handbook. It is fantastic.

Break Up or Break Through A Spiritual Guide to Richer Relationships by Dina Bachelor Evan

The best part is that she's one of us, so she totally understands ;)

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

I finished the first SWEEP book last night. I loved it!

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah:) I love them!

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Me either! I read the whole way back from camp.

Those are the best books I have read... lately. The Fault in Our Stars though.. you'll need, like, two-ply tissues for it.

Summer (wildskf) Sorry, Makz, Wintergirls was not a winner for me :/

That's all of the books that have been recommended to me so far from this group. I still need to finish the SWEEP series, but are there any other titles people think I should check out?

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

It's fine.

You should read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society. I haven't finished it yet, but my cousin recommended it and she normally has good taste in books.

message 36: by Summer (new)

Summer (wildskf) I overheard a coworker talking about that book the other day; it sounded really interesting.

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

It's pretty good so far, I've started it but I'm reading a lot of other books too right now so it's taking a while

Anyone read the Maximum Ride series? The Angel Experiment (Maximum Ride, #1) by James Patterson School's Out—Forever (Maximum Ride, #2) by James Patterson Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports (Maximum Ride, #3) by James Patterson The Final Warning (Maximum Ride, #4) by James Patterson Max (Maximum Ride, #5) by James Patterson Fang (Maximum Ride, #6) by James Patterson .

It is excellent!

message 39: by [deleted user] (new)

I love Maximum Ride!

message 40: by Summer (new)

Summer (wildskf) I have only read the first book and then the first six volumes of the manga. The manga is a little confusing to follow sometimes. Are the books easier to follow?

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, the books are easier but still a bit confusing.

message 42: by Summer (new)

Summer (wildskf) I really like the artist who does the work on the Maximum Ride manga though; the art is top-notch.

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

I will have to look into that.

Gtg. I finally get to go home!!

message 44: by Summer (new)

Summer (wildskf) Huzzah! Have a safe drive home.

Thanks, I will try.

Harrie Farrow (authorharriefarrow) | 2 comments Please take a look at my just published e-book novel about a bisexual man.
Jim first hears the word bisexual on the same day in the sixth grade that he realizes how intelligent he is. He embraces the label, but soon discovers how difficult his life is going to be. At age sixteen his formerly liberal parents turn born-again Christian. He falls in love with Rick, who is also bi, but has a girlfriend and isn’t ready to come out of the closet. Anyway, if Rick’s parents knew what the two of them were doing in Rick’s basement apartment, they’d never let Jim stay there. In college, Jim takes on hedonistic girlfriend, Amy, but she doesn’t seem to want to know who Jim really is. After a traumatic breakup, Jim moves to San Francisco to finally be out and open, but when he meets fellow physics student, Derek, everything gets insanely complicated. Struggling to be true to himself in a world where no-one seems to want him to be who he is, Jim spirals into mental chaos, living between two lies. Then after falling for a married couple, an unexpected twist reveals that love finds its own way, and Jim ends up with more romance than he’s sure he can handle.
