Eddie stepped into the room once it was clear that the girl would not be entering before him. He strode into the middle, examining the neatly made beds before him. "This is nice," he said, trying to seem casual.

Emma walked in and stopped slightly behind him taking an inside look at the room, it was nicer than some hotel rooms though not the best she had been in. She sighed and dropped her luggage as neatly as possible near the wall and collapsed to floor. Sitting with her back against the wall she sighed heavily.

Eddie looked at her, to the beds, and then back to her. "Well, which bed do you want? Ladies first and all that, so you choose."

Emma shrugged listlessly and answered in somewhat of a Montana country accent that she only picked up when she was really tired, "I want the bed I was supposed to have at the MMA invites, not some bed in a glorified rat cage."

Eddie laughed, although the situation held little humor. "Don't worry, I totally get it. I haven't really wrapped my head around the situation yet." He paused, leaning against the wall and staring down at the pretty girl. "Do you think we're dreaming, uh ...?" He realized he didn't know her name yet.

"Emma Stephens." She finished for him pushing off the wall and to her feet in one fluid motion. "And I can only hope I wake up soon." She added.

"Seriously," Eddie said, rubbing the back of his neck and extending the other hand to shake hers. "I'm Eddie Morgan."

Emma grasped the hand firmly feeling the contours and strength if it. There was a lot a fighter could tell from a handshake.

Almost reluctantly, Eddie pulled his hand from hers. "So, Emma, what's your story?" He folded his arms, leaning against the wall again.

"Grew up in MT, a big town for there a small town for just about everywhere else. My dad owned the martial arts school and was the head instructor. That was our thing, and I got way into it taking every class I could. Now I am the up and coming star of the MMA." She checked her watch. "Or at least I was." The first matches at the invites were starting and soon she would officially be disqualified.

"Sweet, an actual girl who kicks ass." He grinned at her in approval.

"I'll kick yours two if you give me a reason." She said threateningly playful, with a sky wink.

Eddie held up his hands in mock defense. "Oh, I believe it. I'll be staying on your good side, I hope." He smirked at her.

Emma shrugged picking up her duffle and tossing it onto the bed neared the window to be followed quickly by her other bag. "Isn't it creepy that all us supposedly awesome people got duped into a government scam that plans of drugging us for some probably untested super cocktail... Or is it just me?"

"Yeah, you don't really hear about this every day, do you?" Eddie peered at the window of the room. "I mean, are they really keeping us locked up here? Couldn't we just climb out that window or something?"

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

"I highly doubt it, did you see the way they shut down on that girl when she moved. No, they know who they recruited and are prepared to deal with us." Emma said

"So, when do you think the whole thing's gonna start? Mr. Garrison doesn't really seem like the type to let us adjust to the idea." He looked at the beds again. "And goddammit, pick a bed because I'm sticking to the whole ladies first thing," he said, laughing lightly.

Emma sighed and went to sit on the bed neared the window dragging over her equipment bag and setting it within reach.
