I am currently reading Divergent by Veronica Roth and her genre is my favorite. In it, I wish Tris had had the physical strength to punch peter in the jaw or something, he is so infuriating!!! agh!!
Anne Mccaffrey is the queen of dragons she wrote the dragon riders of pern! It's one of the best sci-fi or fantasy books ever sold. Tiger's curse is set in the US and later india where an American girl is drawn to a white tiger. Its really a guy who was a prince and through the girl they locate his brother who is also cursed and try to end the curse the last one just came out,
Divergent is superbly written. The plot is intricate so much that I cannot know what to expect. The Heroine is not your average drop-dead-gorgeous. Looks are not her strong suit come to think of it. she got brains and brawn.

Anne did for dragons what jk rowling did for wizards. they both made a world all their own. instead of chocolate frogs there is klah and werries.

That sounds like a very interesting book. I think i might read it next.

Just got back from the bookstore got Divergent and the sequel, vampirates 1-4 and 6, along with those delirium books
Oh and I got Hills of Fire: Bare Knuckle yarns of Appalachia. Its a book published here in my home state. You guys should check it out they are quick reads and a collection of short stories.
they are available on Amazon. and you can order one straight from the publisher it is from woolandpress u can look them up.
Just ordered Gulliver's Travels from amazon. Got my baby about 11 books, some were biscuit and some were other classics.
lol u are so funny. So you are from Africa? My mom's bosses the Stahuras vacation in Africa all the time. They enjoy the beaches. That's stupid I thought the whole point of online was to connect the world so we could all have the same things
Well, I have to get the books free, if you know what I mean. My payment comes in the form of free advertising and reviews. I also get my friends to read the books. My friends come from across the world.
oh that sucks, but I think writing reviews is fun. I enjoy it I try to get six done a day because where I just joined I want to get a review done for each one it takes a bit though. I love this site I don't really have a ton of people to talk to here in West Virginia. Plus it is helping me find out more about promoting and publishing. I am currently working on five novels but I have submitted a few short stories lately.
Wow! That's amazing! How are you able to do that? I wrote a short story that I put on Smashwords for free download and that was it. I don't know how to go about writing a book and making the plot believable. Very brainy stuff. My hat off to you
thanks but really its just ingrained in me. My mom taught me how to write poetry at age 7 and ever since I have wrote. I attended the West Virginia Governor's school for the arts. It is a free program for sophomores. You take a trip to NYC, see a Broadway play and everything. they even pay for your meals and they gave everyone a cd from the trip so everyone had something to take home. I love my state. There are a lot of programs like that. But you have to try out and everything they only take 80 kids a year from the whole state.
Its composed of different sections though for dance, writing, theatre, visual, instrumental, and voice.
Started Insurgent today, now that I think on it, it is a good book but the romance seems a little off. I think it may be that I read to many romance novels. Anyway love the plot though.

I bow before thee. I have written many stories. i am even writing a few short novels. they are here on this site if you want to take a look at them just look up The Crying Rain, The White Haired Princess, or The Rosan Maiden. Either of those. But, to actually to be able to even start writing five novels is incredible. and to even submit some. I've got to admit. I'm impressed.

Thank you, but really every writer starts at the same level. I once read an author is a writer who never quit. I have received two rejections and I am sure my novels will be as well but it only takes one yes so here is to perseverance! Keep it up Frost one day we could be sittin in NY drinking a coffee or in my case tea and talkin about our success. You never know.
Hahaha. you are talkative! :D Don't really know where to start from, as for picking the BOTM, I wouldn't know. I tend not to read current books. I got a lot of catching up. I don't keep with the times.

You know the men work and we wives stay at home, clean, and have babies. Don't get me wrong lots of women have jobs but usually not until after the children are in school. I guess I wanted to see Four a little more macho. I'm in to the manly men though.

My husband doesn't read unless it concerns football so I am alone with all my literary thoughts. lol I think a few of the bookstore employees actually hide when they see me come in. I love reading the oldies as well. The Iliad and Odyssey, Arabian Nights, the Jungle book, and heart of darkness are some of my favs.
Lol, that's so funny. When I was younger, I read the classics. It's all I could lay my hands on.These days I very rarely do. I don't want to anymore
lol I like the classics but my teachers always said that I had a gift for them and foreign languages because I love to read inverted sentences. It gave me a leg up in foreign languages because several of them speak inverted compared to our English. It also comes in handy with old English because of the wording
Just Spanish but I am worked on French in college. And of course English, I was an English education major in college

Cool! i know English, some Spanish, and i took three years of Latin. So, i can translate simple everyday sentences, but for the complex ones i need to search up a few of the words. And, i can watch anime movies/shows like Ponyo without any translations at the bottom, and still understand it. if you watch anime alot you pick up on a few words, and the emotions that they use while saying those words.

Foreign languages come in handy in a lot of situations. Once a guy cam in a store I was in and wanted to buy beer but it was sunday so no alcohol until after 2. He didn't speak English so I helped out a bit.
I am terrible at languages. I speak English, Luganda, some Jopadhola and can sort of read and write Korean(Beginners Level). I had a lifetime to learn my mom's native language(Jopadhola) but I never did, though I understand it quite well
wowness, I am the only one in my family to go to college so I am the only one who knows any foreign language. Not many people in my family are very smart so im considered an outsider sometimes.
Yes I am American but believe it or not everyone doesn't get to go to college. My family was well poor when my mother was a child, and I have been poor before to the point if we hadn't killed animals and gathered local edible plants dinner would have been sparse.College is a privilege not a right. I could only afford one year, my husband is saving money to send me back when our son is in elementary school.
People in my state are losing their jobs because of the president we has a war on coal so West Virginians are losing jobs all the time. the people here are losing their homes, cars, having a hard time affording heat and power.

Though there is nothing shameful in being poor. Money is not everything. I count wealth in how much love and laughter you had in your home. :)Without it Bill Gates would be poor too.
Ohhh, I dropped out of college. Twice. I could either pay my way through it or support my family. If you can read and write, that is education enough. If you are creative enough to write stories, isn't that enough? A college degree is just a piece of paper you know. What you can do with your hands is priceless. You can attend online courses you know at a fraction of the cost. You would still get time to take care of your baby.
I teach computer class and manage a vocational institute but most of what I teach was not learned in a class. I studied CISCO Networking at college but never used my knowledge after that. It's what I taught myself from when I was a kid that is earning my keep.
My granma only learned how to read and write but what she can do can astound you. You know, you have all the education you need to be a successful person. Tap into your Mojo :)
Trust me I get what u r sayin. I love who I am. I have more skills than most girls have, and I can be a writer without a degree. I got bored in college classes honestly my high school was really good about college prep, but I only got 750 dollars in scholarships so I didn't stay. But yeah things here aren't that great. The country is in debt and our president is cutting government jobs as well. That is why I don't understand the war on coal because our taxes count right?
That's awesome that you teach I want to teach little kids but if my writing career talks off I really want to travel around the world and help kids who cant afford books get them. I would love to just take a plane full of books with me that have been donated and let children pick one out each. I love what J.K. Rowling does with her money. I promised myself if I ever got enough to live off of I would try to help people.
You know you don't need money to do that you know. All it takes a vision and someone to support you bring it to fruitation. Human beings will shock you how giving they can be. You can start a collection centre where old books are donated. then you can find needy children worldwide who can't access books. I grew up reading so many books because I was lucky. Not everyone is. Reading changes your perspective on life so so much. Believe in your dream and you will achieve.
Oh I want to. My favorite imaginative vision is seeing little kids smile at me when I help them go through a big box and then read aloud for them.

Usul is right. But, you can be the most poorest person in the world, and still be able to do something. Cause all you need are true friends who support you, who believe in you, who are also creative, and who loves you for you.

Oh I agree I just wish I could do more. My husband and I donate money and stuff all the time. We are right now gathering up a lot of our son and my nephews baby clothes to donate to the women's resource center.

SPOILER!!!!! if you hadn't read lost voices you might not get what i'm saying, but if you have then you might agree with me).
I think that Luce, during the first Lost Voices book, should have slapped that snotty witchy brat, and kicked her out of the group when she had the chance.
