I thought it wold be nice to have a place here to get to know each other. Also, as a way to keep it on topic please share with everyone how you came to know Angela Carter. Which of her works initiated you into the realm of this amazing writer?

I'm a mother, writer, and poet as well as the founder and editor of Strange Girl Press. I live in TN with my fiance of four years and our little boy who is almost 20 months old. I started reading at the age of 3.5 and have had a love for reading, books, literature and poetry all my life. I think its safe to say Angela Carter is my favorite writer.

I first read her book The Magic Toyshop after finding it in a used book store years ago. I'd ordered some books of Shirley Jackson's short stories and her novel, We Have Always Lived in the Castle, from Amazon and Angela Carter's books were suggested as recommended reading... so her name being familiar to me i bought The Magic Toyshop and read it straight through and have been devouring her work ever since.
