HI everyone. Thanks for stopping in.I see some familiar names and "faces". Great people in this group.I know I have posted anything yet here. But I've been brainstorming on what I should post. Obviously,we a posting our views, critiques, and opinions on the books we read. But I kind of want this to be a playground for other postings. Most of us have a Facebook and/or Twitter page. And though we would like to say certain things ( like the smelly guy that sit across from you at your job or the deranged neighbor, etc), we are cautious. So I am thinking of using this corner for various types of things ( I know, I know keep it clean).
I look forward to participating in thus discussion room.
Hi Veronica. Just checking in at your corner. You are right, I have a FB page that I rarely even check on due to all the motivational banners, political banner and religious things that seem to have taken over. Don't get me wrong, I have opinions about almost everything and certainly need all the motivation that I can get, but FB is just too much.
I am really enjoying this group and feel quite comfortable among the members. There is a wealth of books and information on them. Authors both new and old. Very good group. Hope you enjoy it.
Hi Veronica, have you thought of things to post in your playground yet? I'm new and still getting to grips with GR but I love the friendly welcoming atmosphere of this group.

Hi, Happy Sunday, Veronica!!
I just thought I'd drop by your corner, wish you and yours well, etc..:)
FB is ridiculous now. I just play games and update my gardening page and then get off. No chat, no drama, no BS.
I'm not on FB. I find it boring. Prefer face to face with friends and family. At least GR is centred around books.
I am on Facebook, but not into all the drama. I go there mainly to keep in contact with friends and family.
I have relatives in the US, Singapore, England & the West of Ireland, but I use Skype to keep in contact with them.

I think you will come up with some great stuff... I'll be checking in and out...
Alondra wrote: "FB is ridiculous now. I just play games and update my gardening page and then get off. No chat, no drama, no BS."For real. So many of my friends have cancelled FB because of the drama. I go in, look around, make a few comments, then I am out. And also, someone on my job just got fired for posting certain comments about a coworker. There was an ongoing investigation. However, the comments just added to their demise
Jack wrote: "I'm not on FB. I find it boring. Prefer face to face with friends and family. At least GR is centred around books."I agree.
Jack wrote: "Hi Veroica, how are you? What are you reading at the moment?"Hey!!! Right now I am reading Heartsick by Chelsea Cain. Its cool.
Ok, maybe y'all can help me. I want to start to get into the YA genre. I've been hesitant in the past because I was afraid the books would be too kiddie. However, I was told that was not so. I never understood what made a book part of the YA genre. I just want to start with a good one. I read the Harry Potter and Hunger Games series. I have Divergent, City of Bones, Delirium, and few others I purchased for $.99 for my Nook. Any ideas or suggestions?
I have to say I am hooked in GR. I have the app download on my cell so I dont miss the notifications when I dont have access to my laptop. I also have some of the discussions update notification emailed to me. I am hooked. LOL
Well, I just finished Divergent and I thought it was brilliant. You should definitely try The Fault In Our Stars by John Green, and if your into a bit of YA Dystopia, then I would suggest the Gone series by Michael Grant. I also loved Girl, Missing by Soohie McKenzie.
Hope that helps. :)
Hope that helps. :)
I just finished the Beautiful Creatures series and enjoyed it. I also liked Amber Frost and Silver Dew.
I have Beautiful Creatures. I decided I am going to start with City of Bones since the movie will be out in Sept. Also, I want to start reading Blue Bloods. For some reason I am drawn to this book
I have also read the fallen series. I did find it a bit thought provoking and enjoyable. I have been wondering about Blue Bloods. Let me know what you think.
Hey Veronica! nice corner! if you read Delirium dont forget to read Pandemonuim and The delirium stories of Annabel, Hana, Raven and Alex. and if you read Divergent you also would want to read Insurgent and Free Four which is a chapter on his point of view.:)
Personally i'm loving it. I'm still reading it because there are so many books and i could recently get the ones i didnt have. I was told you have to read first of all Delirium, then Annabel, then Hana, then Pandemonium, then Raven, then Alex and finally Requiem. If you like YA, Dystopian, fiction and romantic books you'd love it. You also might wanna read the Matched trilogy which is also in the same genre. hope i was helpful :)
I just finished reading Heartsick
by Chelsea Cain. I gave it 3 stars, only because I got a little bored with it. There were scenes that peaked my interest - the scenes betweeb Gretchen and Archie. That was brilliant. I actually felt what Archie was feeling.I will continue the series.Right now I have to give my brain a rest
Hi Veronica! Greetings from another (relative) newbie. :)Thanks for the DLP book rec. I think I'll be adding it to my to-read list.

Hi Veronica, ever read any of Jilly Coopers books? She gives jackie Collins a pretty good run for her money!!!
Just finished Poor Little Bitch Girl
and I LOVED IT!!! You cannot go wrong with a Jackie Collins book. I love the scandal, sex, romance, and backstabbing... 5 Stars!
hey veronica! i'm glad you enjoyed the book! i may add it to my to-read list! hope you're having a great weekend!
My weekend is going great. Just became an Auntie again. She's still in the hospital because she was early. But shes adorable...
sorry you didn't like Guilty Pleasures, the series is okay up until about book 5 or 6, then you start asking..."really??" I don't miss it, so it may not be a loss for you either. :O
Veronica, congrats on becoming an auntie again. My sister in law is due in may. Will get to see it in June, all going well. Jilly coopers first book was riders. Pretty steamy, first in a series. Read it years ago and definitely recommend unless my memory is playing tricks on me. Another really good book is a woman of substance by Barbara Taylor Bradford if your into a family type saga book
Alondra wrote: "sorry you didn't like Guilty Pleasures, the series is okay up until about book 5 or 6, then you start asking..."really??" There seems to be parts missing. Then I realized its the way its written
Katherine wrote: "Veronica, congrats on becoming an auntie again. My sister in law is due in may. Will get to see it in June, all going well. Jilly coopers first book was riders. Pretty steamy, first in a series. ..."I purchased Pandora Box. But her books are series? Good to know.
I read A Woman of Substance about years ago. Maybe I will revisit
