Chelsea (theycallmebookworm) | 1955 comments I have noticed that Manga is usually a guy thing but there are some books aimed at gals e.g. Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura. Personally I do, I've just started out so I was wondering if any of you guys read it?

Trip (shardsofromance) Yes! I've been reading manga for a few years now and use to be addicted, although I don't read them as much any more since not as much time but still enjoy when I do.
If you want any recommendations be sure to ask xD

B. Tealya (tealya) | 65 comments Yep. Have for years, though not as much now as I used to. I was an avid Inuyasha fan for quite a while and have about half the series on my shelves. My personal favorite to this day is still Slayers. Lina Inverse makes me happy.

McMichael (bkristinmcmichael) | 3 comments While it may seemed aimed towards guys- there are so many that are completely aimed towards girls- but since I don't know japanese or koren, I can't give you the exact name of them. I've read lots over the past 8 yr or so (starting with inuyasha) I think more people read it than will admit.....

Aya Ling | 15 comments Me! I've read manga for about twenty years, lol, even wrote fanfiction a while ago. Actually those aimed for guys are called shonen manga, such as Naruto and Bleach, while those intended for girls are called shojo, such as Hana Yori Dango and Nana. I read and enjoy both :)

My personal favorite for shonen is Rurouni Kenshin, set in early Meiji era, about a swordsman who no longer kills. The characters are wonderfully memorable, and the artwork is just beautiful. As for shojo, I have a special fondness for From Far Away, about an ordinary girl who travels to an alternative world and learns she is the key to a prophecy. The male protagonist is absolutely swoon-worthy!

@Chelsea, I love Fruits Basket as well!

joanne (cabeswaters) @Chelsea: Fruits Basket was actually my first manga, same for a lot of people I think. It's great :)

Most of my friends are manga readers, not me personally although I LOVE Pandora Hearts! <3

Haley | 24 comments Yes! whenever I get tired of a book I read manga, and then I finish my manga and come back to the book. It is just one big chain!

Chelsea (theycallmebookworm) | 1955 comments I have started on the first host club book and I'm loving it!

Ellie (elliem97) | 7 comments I used to love manga, I still do but I'm not as addicted as I was! But I still read OHSHC, Skip beat, Toyko crazy paradise, Perfect girl evolution. (And a few others I can't think of the name of.)
When I have to read a book in school, that I don't like or am struggling to get through, I read manga to take a break, instead of reading too many books and getting more confused!
