A. Love the interview! Looking forward to the next book, yay.

Ash Wednesday Great interview, Rebecca :) And Tabitha seems like someone great to pick brains (braaaaaaainnnsss) with.

Tabitha McGowan Nomnomnom. I find you tend to need a pin to get the last of the *good* meat out of the skull crevices, mind you...

I really enjoyed being able to answer a few questions about the process, so thank you for the opportunity! :D

M. J. Lawless What a great interview - I love the comments about the settings being characters in their own right :)

Gerry Great interview Rebecca, The Tied Man has got to be one of my all time best reads and if I have to wait 5yrs for the continuining story on Lilith and Finn then so be it, sometimes it's worth the wait for such a powerfully deep book with two complex main characters that you can't help but love. It left me emotionally drained and numb but soooo gonna read it again. Thanks for a behind the scenes glimpse Rebecca x

J I so loved this dark, brutal, outstanding book that it is affecting all my thoughts and reviews of the other books I'm now reading. I bring "The Tied Man" up in other reviews (Arrangement #4, Fight for Flight) both to try and generate interest in others that might not know about this book and also simply because "The Tied Man" is so well done that all other books I've read can't compare.

Thanks so much for this interview. I'm so glad to know that Finn and Lilith will get some revenge (I know a certain couple I'd like to see have a glorious "hamstringing"). Hopefully Finn and Lilith will be able to have a long and fulfilling relationship and overcome all the baggage they must be carrying around.

I think I'm slowly going insane by not being able to get this book out of my mind and for caring so much for the lives of Finn and Lilith -- even though they are only book characters!! I'm in awe of Tabitha McGowan and she has a fan for life.

Tabitha McGowan After 5 years of sweating this thing out, it's stuff like this that makes it more than worthwhile. Gerry - I *promise* it won't be another 5 years - I don't think I'd survive! Judy - thank you for your promotion; I really wanted to create characters that people care about, and it's clear from your statement that I seem to have managed. I only hope I can meet readers' expectations for the sequel. I'm loving the planning stage right now, which is a good sign!

J Tabitha and YA - Thanks for adding me as friends. Wanted to let you know that most of my previous reviews have been on Amazon. I also sent a note to Amazon asking them to stop including The Tied Man in with recommendations for obviously sleazy erotic novels and other "stuff". I told them this was a serious book and should be included with other serious novels and was probably the best book I'd read in a long time. When I searched on The Tied Man after that, no sleaze in sight. But, I still can't believe there are only 14 reviews on Amazon. I wish I understood the book biz better to know how # of reviews correlates to actual sales. I do know it is impossible to type out a decent review on a Kindle. I go back to my regular computer to type out my reviews.

I've always used Amazon, but lately I go to Goodreads to find the books (through reviews and ratings) I want to read and then back to Amazon to buy them.

One last thing, Tabitha. Is there any chance "The Tied Man" and sequel will ever be published in a real book? I have this thing about having all the books I really, really love on hand in case we have to go into survival mode (a nuclear war or Zombie attack) and my Kindle would no longer be useable. At least I could read the books I love and admire until I starved to death!!

Thank you so much for getting on to Amazon - that's so bloody impressive! I think Goodreads, and the particularly scary collection of women who are now behind my book, are responsible for the healthy kindle sales that I'm now seeing; I launched the book as a completely unknown writer - any earlier stuff I'd done for theatre or magazines meant zilch once I was on a global market - so to have this kind of buzz in two months is *so* much more than I'd expected.

I'm currently looking into a 'real world' agent, and am also considering a self-pub limited paperback run. Come the zombie holocaust, I am planning a panic room stocked with books and gin, so I'm definitely with you on that one.

(And to be honest, when it comes to zombies vs my readership, the undead don't stand a chance - I'm thinking maybe a couple of weeks of hiding out, before the threat is completely gone...)

M. Ever since reading The Tied Man, I've been ruined for any other book. They just don't compare. I convinced my friends to read The Tied Man, so they're starting a BuddyRead together soon. I am SO excited about that, it's like I've written the book myself lol. It's silly, but I want them to love it as much as I did.

And Goodreads is the best thing ever. I never use amazon for reviews. Just for buying books. Goodreads on the other hand has completely taken over any other social media profile I had. I'm almost never on Facebook and Instagram anymore.

J Tabitha:

Thanks for your reply. I'll probably have a really good California Cabernet in my Zombie bunker when the time comes (hopefully it ages well during the siege).

I think you're going to become big time so I hope you remember all of us weird ladies out in the world when you, yourself, become a billionairess that needs a poor young lad to take care of your needs. I am now 66, can't believe I've gotten that old, but so happy I've found "The Tied Man" to read, enjoy and stew over. You've made a big addition to my reading mind and heart. (And, forget all these emails and such, we need Finn and Lilith Revenge -- get busy!!).

J Marta:

Yes "The Tied Man" gets into your soul. Isn't it amazing a writer can do that to you! I'm on a crusade to get the word out about this book and glad you have joined the fray.

Elaine Rebecca great interview..
First of all I totally agree with Marta, thank god for Goodreads because I don't think I would of ever come across this amazing heart provoking book. I'm rubbish at writing down how a book makes me feel and some of the reviews for your book have been outstanding. I just want to let you know that your book made me feel all kind of emotions and I have never wanted to hurt a book character like Blaine before lol..and that is down to your brilliant writting. Thank you Tabitha for giving me the chance to read this story and by the way.... I loved it .....and will continue to recommend it to my friends and other Goodreads readers.
Look forward to reading the continuing story of Finn and Lilith and what ever path they take.

Tabitha McGowan I've just come home from work on a snowy, freezing winter's evening, I have hours of essay-writing lined up ahead of me, and it's only Monday - and this has just made me smile, and given me a proper warm-fuzzy. Thank you; I really hadn't realised just how much people would 'get' my characters; 5 years of gambling time, sweat and tears, and now it's paying off. Creating something that takes people to their 'Somewhere Else' has to be the best thing ever!

J Tabitha:

Looks like you are finally getting some good reviews and traction on Amazon.

So happy for you (and Finn and Lilith!), but sorry that it looks like you have a lot of other work than just my selfish interest in getting Finn and Lili's next story finished. Just be assured that all of us weird ladies will still be here when you're ready for us.
