Mary (marycastillo) | 10 comments Is anyone watching this show on BBC America? I loved Matthew McFadyen in Pride & Prejudice. Now I get him every week!

Rachel Annie (snapdragoness) I am!

Matthew McFadyen in P&P never really caught my eye, but that scene in Ripper Street where he sort of frisks the woman that owns the brothel... Yep, he's on my radar now! :)

Mary X (marymaryalwayscontrary) | 50 comments I just came across this and recorded a couple episodes. I have episodes 5-7 and 8 is recording this weekend.

Now I have to see if I can find 1-4 to watch somewhere. Will I be lost if I start at episode 5?

It looks like I can watch them through Amazon for $2 an episode.

Connie (conbroc) | 4 comments Hi, I'm new to the group but saw this topic on my new obsession and had to comment. I love the smart, high toned thick language and the characterizations. Love that the histories are being peeled back episode by episode. And, of course, Matthew MacFayden makes my liver quiver. :)

Rachel Annie (snapdragoness) @Mary: I don't think you'll be lost if you start later in the series, @Connie is right about the histories of the characters being revealed slowly. They really didn't get into back stories until several episodes in.
