Freaks? Or normal? discussion

As soon as Thorn parked the car Katrina ran to her room. "KATRINA WAIT" Shouted Thorn after her. "TIRED" she shouted as she climbed the stairs to her room. Thorn entered the kitchen poured himself some orange juice, he doesn't drink much Soda or alcohol for him being athletic and all. Then he walked to her room and knocked "Kat can I come in? I want to talk to you for a bit." He said behind the door. "Thorn seriously I'm tired, you just dragged me to the cinema and took me out to eat I think we've had enough quality time today" "No, something happened today and I wasn't able to talk about in public, and I was trying to distract both of us" He replied calmly. "You aren't gonna leave are you? " "Nope" "Fine come in"

Thorn sat on her window bed. "I met someone today" a frown on his face. "you're like a 12 years old girl, so what?" She said annoyed. "No it's not that. She was umm was different kind of how you are different." He let that sink in and watch her turn stone hard. "She vanished twice, then ignored me and didn't explain or justify anything." He continued. "Are you sure? It might've been a trick of light." "You know I won't bring that up unless I'm 100% sure." He felt her sadness. "Well good for her at least she can vanish, Good night Thorn" He sighed. "Good night Katrina, Happy birthday buddy" he said while closing the door behind him. He heard her whisper a thank you and he went to his room.

Katrina woke up the next morning with her headphones still on, head throbbing from the music that was playing all night in her ear drums. Shoot I'm late for school! She got up hopped into the shower, got dressed and ran downstairs "YOU COULD HAVE WAKED ME UP THORN" She shouted to the kitchen, she could smell the coffee. "COULD HAVE, DON'T WANT TO. THERE'S COFFEE" he shouted back laughing to himself. "SUCK IT ASSHOLE" She shouted while slamming the door after her. She probably will miss the bus. Better start running champion.

Katerina opens the door for Thorn to enter carrying Miranda. They took her to the hospital fixed her up as much as possible then had to snatch her away from the nurses. She's sedated, but should probably be conscious soon. Thorn laid her on a couch in the sitting room and sat beside her his hand finding comfort in ruffling his hair.

Miranda was about to glitch. She turned invisible for five minutes then went back to her normal self

Leaning against the doorframe, Rachel watched with a keen observation, absentmindedly twirling her hair through her fingers. This was all new to her and the shock from having to use her power in attack mode was still lingering at the back of her mind.

Turning her head towards the guy from the roof, Rachel blinked a few times before feeling a blush creep up on her cheeks. "Um...well Miranda got attacked and we um...we stopped the guy and brought her here." She tried explaining, a little flustered.

Shrugging, Rachel averted her eyes elsewhere, trying not to stare too much. "Kat gave in eventually. You left the roof before I could catch your name." She commented, trying to change the subject.

"Lex." She repeated, her voice a purr as she finally looked back over at him. Short but unique. "I like it." She told him, her face breaking out in a glamorous smile.

Looking around the room, Rachel shrugged. "Probably around the house somewhere. If you look, I'm sure she will come." After a brief pause, Rachel bent down and picked up her pale pink purse. "I should probably get going anyway."

Pausing at the door, Rachel shot him a greatful smile. "Thanks. I'll see ya around." And with that she turned around and headed down the stairs. Somehow on the last step, her legs caught together, sending Rachel tumbling towards the ground.

Expecting the hardness of the concrete, Rachel felt herself wince. But there was nothing, just the sensation of someone's arms around her, protecting her. "My ankle is twisted." She managed to whisper inbetween breaths.

Ignoring the numbness, Rachel focused on him. It wasn't that hard to find him distracting. "Well aren't you my knight in shining armour." She teased back playfully.

"It would of been worse if you weren't here." She admitted shyly.

Standing up, Rachel attempted to hobble a few steps forward. Looking back at Lex she smiled. "You can go look for Kat if you want. I can stay out of trouble."

Slightly disappointed her hadn't insisted on keeping her company, Rachel limped to the edge of the forest and morphed into a wolf, running through to the river.

Katerina entered the room, Thorn was still sitting next to Rachel. "I hate this. You know that right?" She whispered. "I know Kat but please not now" he pleaded. "Fine, I'm in the pool house." She said storming off.

Miranda was still on the couch, completely invisible and passed out.

"Umm yes. Wait who the hell are you?" Thorn eyed the guy. Yea definitely the type of friend Kat would have. At least she's making friends.

"Okay, she's in the pool house. You can crash there. We'll talk later, umm I'm kind of busy now." He nodded towards Miranda. He doesn't trust him much, but Kat can take care of herself even if he never admits it.

"How did you get here? Oh yea flashy super speed." She looked over her shoulder. "Join the partaay" she said lighting a fresh weed cigarette..

" I wish I could kill her right here and now" she said getting angrier. "And that stupid brother of mine ugghh!!" Her face was bright red now. Weed isn't helping much.

Miranda turned visible and was still on the couch.

"Oh hahahahah you think Thorn will ever let her leave? I wouldn't be surprised if they elope! She's such a bitch and he'a just waay too trusting!" She was almost shouting now. Shaking she tried to calm herself down. " I feel so helpless. If I force her away, he'll just figure it out. And i don't want to give in. I don't want to be a freak" whispering her words she started walking around the room.

"Yea well he's stupid for such a smart brain. He feels like he needs to protect every fucking living thing. He gets these weird connections with random people. I can't figure out a pattern or anything. He just suddenly feels committed."

Miranda turned visible and was still on the couch.

"That's what drives me crazy, I don't. I mean I can, but if I do, he'll never forgive me" She feels like she said too much so she tries to change he subject. " how did you know where I live? "

Thorn looks at Miranda a crease between his eyebrows visible now. "You're shifting a lot, isn't that dangerous or something?" He asked worriedly.

She was stilled passed out and couldn't hear a word he was saying. Her invisibility isn't controllable.

"Well that's a useful power" she said smiling a bit now. " Do you tell anyone like that? Isn't it dangerous?" She was curious. Everyone in this town seems so open about their powers.

"Why do you assume I have powers?" She's not the trusting type. no one out of my family knows about what i can do she thought to herself.

She chuckles " You're like a 12 years old girl thriving for gossip!" She shakes her head. " you'll have to read it off my messed up brain. If you can." Teasingly she gestures an i'm waiting.

"Hypnotism, inception and deception of all sorts. Not all powers are fun you see? I can never lose control. I might kill people. Imagine having such a power and not being able to help the ones you love?" She felt relieved, it was the first time ever to talk about it.

" You don't understand, I don't want my powers at all. That's why I keep them shut. It's not like a trigger, no. I can get angry and go like " kill yourself" this will be your lifelong goal. You'll go to any length to achieve it. Not because I said so, but because you'll want to" she sighed thinking about what she did to her parents. No she can't possibly tame that power.

" I don't know. There's no guarantee that I won't mess up someone's life" She shrugged. " you never told me why you need a place to stay?" Obviously changing the subject before the memories of her parents start flooding in full force.

"You live alone?" She asked curiously.

"I don't know much people around here, but i'll let you know"she smiled "but i know someone who IS interested but i'm afraid not in the house" she winked as she was leaving the pool house "I'll leave you to settle, make yourself at home" She grinned and headed to her bedroom.

Miranda woke up and ran from Thorn and to the front door, stumbling on the stairs.

Thorn stormed after her just in time to grab her arm to not let her fall. He then stepped back, face flushed "What's your problem?! Do I look like I bite?!" He was getting angry, her attitude is just frustrating!

"You're a freaking human! Get away from me!"Miranda screamed.

He became very still. Then suddenly he started laughing hysterically! "You're disgusted by me? I'm a "freaking Human!" Need I remind you that you're the one who disappears half of the time?" He was really surprised by her response! She was accusing him of being a freak because he has no powers!

Katerina was standing on top of the stairs she actually was kind of laughing her self! That girl really is messed up.

"I wasn't calling you a freak, you moron! I said freaking instead of fucking!"Miranda yelled, pushing him.

"Oh well now I'm not insulted!" He said sarcastically. He suddenly got silent and walked towards the door and opened it. "Get out" he said calmly. "You don't get your assed saved by me and my sister than treat us like shit. No. GET OUT." Thorn felt numb. He didn't care if she was sick he didn't care if he was being rude but as nice as he is, he doesn't let people walk all over him.

"That's what I was trying to do!"she screamed, leaving the house and slamming the door behind her.

Katerina walked down the stairs slowly "Thorn? Are you okay?" She asked carefully she hasn't seen her brother that angry before. Usually she's the rude insulting one. Thorn looked over his shoulder " I'm fine. I want to know what she did to you? Yea you're almost always angry but that flare, that deep need to beat the shit out of her I see in your eyes is wrong. What happened?" He talked as he approached her.

"She threw a can at me, then called you a stalker, I called her a freak and she hit me. If Lex wasn't there it would've gone ugly." He looked at her gesturing s keep talking. She sighed " Then me and Rachel were standing by the gates, a guy pushed Miranda to the wall trying to umm hurt her. Rachel bit his arm or something I ordered him to never do that again the I called you." Taking a deep breath " It's okay." She gave him a half smile half nod. He nodded back and headed to his room.
