Jody | 46 comments I adored this book! It was so magical-in the very contemporary no supernatural way. I can't wait for Just One Year!!! The characters were great. And I loved how Allyson changed and experienced life.

Sherry | 19 comments Just finished and...really? How can she end the books that way? sigh.
I love the way Allyson grows throughout the story...she leaves Paris more sure of herself than when she first got there, but she slips away from all that in that one 'morning after'. I like how Forman shows us how vulnerable Allyson becomes when she thinks that she has been abandoned after all. Her confidence was just getting good and strong and then she relapses. Her challenges back home and the wonderful school counselor who proposes that she follow her OWN dream instead of her mom's make me love Forman's writing more. Love the main characters...also love the minors especially Wren and even Celine.
The settings were brought to life beautifully by Forman. Must...have...more

Jody | 46 comments You forgot to mention Dee. I love Dee and all the many faces of him! Oh, and I loved her boss who made her promise to eat one macaroon a day.

Sherry | 19 comments Everyone needs a friend like Dee. He was fabulous! Literally! :)
I liked how her boss also changed the menu up a bit to include some french cuisine and was teaching her a bit too. And yes I want some macarons. They sound yummy.
Here's a link to visit for a cafe that specializes.

Kat Hammock | 5 comments I absolutely loved this book! I had been eyeing it for a while and found an autographed copy at MostlyBooks so I had to get it. I love the way Gayle writes and how she keeps you hooked. I read it in about 7 hours time span. The way she portrayed Allyson really hit home for me. I feel like Allyson in many ways. I'm 22 and still struggling with self discovery and courage to speak my mind. All the characters were fabulous. I really enjoyed how each one was represented. I do hate the way the book ended only because I'm dying to know what happened after Willem invited Allyson to go in his room. Gah! Are they together are they not? The torture. All in all, wonderful book, fast and exciting read and definitely one I will cherish and invite others to read as well.

Jody | 46 comments I agree with the end of book comment. I was left gasping, "what! There must be a page, even a sentence more that my book is missing". A very bittersweet ending.

Sherry | 19 comments I agree on the ending!
I flipped the pages too looking for an epilogue at least...some sort of clue. sigh.

Kat Hammock | 5 comments I'm hoping "Just One Year" has an elaboration on the ending. If not i just might keel over.

Sherry | 19 comments I KNOW! Need to know more...soon.
And have a macaron.

Kat Hammock | 5 comments I've been seeing macaroons a lot more since reading this book, but none of them look as appetiZing as Allyson described them. Haha!
