I'm currently working on a book where the main character gets a significant facial tattoo and it changes his self-perception, his relationships, and essentially his life.

Are there any books where tattoos are a crucial element in the story?

I'm very excited about it, especially since I don't think there's ever been a book like this before. There are plenty of stories about tattoos or people with tattoos, but this book is a character study where the tattoo is the catalyst that starts a chain of events that drastically changes the protagonist's life (and the tattoo is on his face!). Definitely check it out if you're into tattoos, heavy metal, fantasy weapons, or reluctant romances.

I was looking into the book it looks good. On my list to read.

My novel, just released is called "On the Lips of Children" The title comes from both the novels theme, and that the main character has a tattoo of the saying "Mother is the Name of God on the Lips of All Children." She used to be a cutter as a teen, and then falls in love with both the humm of the tattoo needle and the tattoo artist himself. He fathers her second child, but during a trip to San Diego, they are taken hostage in a San Diego to Tijuana drug tunnel. Here, the cutting continues.
