I also thought this was a little over-hyped, but did enjoy it. I thought it was a sweet story, one I could recommend to anyone, but not one that I will rave over.

I think I listened to this one on audio, and I loved it. I wonder if listening to it is what made the difference. Trillin's love that he showed in this tribute to his wife completely swept me away. Total self-disclosure here, but I think my husband loves me that much and it seems like such a miracle to me on a regular if not daily basis. Maybe everyone does, but I thought Trillin captured it so perfectly with this book. And I've only read one of his other books.
