Coming from the United States I find psychology a mix bag. I have noticed overall that psychology in general is accepted but as all the different theories and approaches to psychology there are still areas that are accepted easier for the public vs. the other areas (whatever they may be). I often find crime and psychological problems an extremely interesting area of what is accepted and what is not. I know I personally do not want to study in the area of crime and psychology but I will admit when I do stop and listen when they state someone has a mental disorder and see how people approach it.
How is psychology viewed where you are from?
Cultural psychology is an amazing topic when you discover how another person from a different part of the world views psychology.
