St. Anne's Reading Group Experience discussion

With the war, comes death and the appearance of Amy's ghost. She draws grief to the river, a symbol of life. William recognizes the grief in Evan, as he too has been touched by grief, with the loss of his little sister Amy. Mattie's grief for the loss of her husband leads her to search for the ghost. Evan and Mattie are reborn in the river, and create life once more.
