Let's use this thread to introduce ourselves. I hope everyone feels comfortable.

Ok then. I'm Margaret. I like to write stories. I like to express myself. I like to try new things and try to perfect old things. I like precision. I like clever and brave. I like to rant and ramble. I also enjoy reading other peoples stories, poetry, ramblings and rants. Enjoy.

Shel (shelbybower) | 54 comments I just didn't want to be the first person in the door of the party. I hate being first; I never know what to talk about.

I brought some fantastic wine, a hunk of manchego cheese and the softest, juiciest pears ever picked. I also found this great chocolate bar with bacon in it.

I like reading what other people write, because I already know there's a lot of talent lyin' around here.

Every now and then I'll post something that I will always caveat with "it's not finished" and cross my fingers.

::plops down on couch, folds knees up, prepares to read some great stuff::

I'm that girl in the kitchen, making the bacon wrapped cream cheese jalapeno snacks.

message 5: by Connie (new)

Connie I also brought a bottle of wine...a simple Prosecco that always seems to help free my thoughts, my writing...and my tongue (caution: I can be a chatterbox).

Anyway, I have always had snippets of stories floating around my head, and I was always amazed by those people who could take snippets and turn them into whole stories. Now I'm trying to be that kind of person. I just lack the discipline to shut the door to the office, let the cats and my boyz fend for themselves, and write.

I'm looking forward to the summer; if the racecar is ready, we'll be spending a great deal of time at the track. Then I can set myself out of the way and 'do my thing'...

Brian (banoo) | 5 comments i'm brian. i'm learning english. i just wish the language would stop changing so damn fast. i've committed my life to learning it. by the time i die i should be able to communicate somewhat fluently. i know plants. i talk to trees. they sometimes talk back but not in english.

I'm Esther. I'm busy. I try to write...sometimes it's okay...sometimes not. I only like my bacon at breakfast and nowhere near my chocolate or cream cheese. I do like wine. I like the way it creeps up your nose. It gives me a sinus buzz almost immediately. I can't wait 'til summer...or maybe I can. I wish I had the money and time off work for a trip to Seattle and I have a ton of GRE studying so I can get into grad school, so maybe not. I might get laid off work soon.

Did I mention I'm completely random?

Seems like this thread is completely random. And why do I always feel the need to head straight for the kitchen when company arrives? Must be that nurturing inclination...

With this bunch you always need at least one spot for the randomness of it all...

I'm coming over Bonita! My mom has a habit of forgetting where the kitchen is when I come over...

I decided today that I really need a chaise lounge or reading chair of some sort for outside. I would love to be out there reading today (it's beautiful!) but I don't want to sit on the rough wooden rocker that sits unevenly on our cluttered porch. *sigh*
