I for one am very glad that an older actor was chosen. I don't know much about him, but he seems to be a good fit. I think he'll add a lot the the character of the Doctor.

i'm also glad that they have an older person playing the doctor again. the last episodes of doctor who featuring Amy and Rory where a bit darker and a bit more mature. i'm hoping that the now doctor will encompass that as the new episodes aren't as dark as I'd like.

After rewatching the Pompeii episode in season 4 w Donna,I feel pretty good about the new doctor..though I'm sad to see Matt smith go

I am so excited for Peter capaldi to take over the role of the doctor although I am really sad o see Matt smith leave :( has anyone seen him is the show fortysomething? A youn Benedict cumberbatch is in it too. Not a show for kids though. Be warned.

I do love it when actors from different fandoms appear in the same show. But Britain has like fifty actors and they just line up for their turn in shows. :)

I think that is what is so great about british TV - you get to see your favorites jump into something together.
