I finished this book recently and K. R. really paints a crazy picture of medical stuff. Can we really replace a brain like that? Are we that close? Personalyl I really hope not cause that's too creepy.
I'd say he wasn't all that far off. I'm not sure about the 3D printing thing, but as for what scientists are learning about brains, yes we're close to brain control. Check out this video on Ted about 5K brains. It's kind of wild. http://www.ted.com/talks/read_montagu...
